Would you be pissed off if...

Would you be pissed off if...

Would you be pissed off if a distant friend of yours, after being engaged for over a year, suddenly decided that she wants to have a wedding in July, one months before yours (because this way they can have a 2 months honeymoon in Australia). This is after she, along with everyone else, knew that your wedding is that August.

And, she's inviting all of the same friends you're inviting (she's distant friends with them all as well).

And, she's planing on having it at the exact same place you're having it at! (Assuming it's not booked.)

...Someone, please, tell me that I'm being a Bridezilla and that I'm being insensitive to other people's circumstances.

You're not being a bridezilla, I would be pissed off too.

Re: Would you be pissed off if...

Thanks girls.

I will try to talk to her, and explain that this bothers me. (She really doesn't care about her wedding, it's just a formality to her. Maybe she isn't aware that there are more than 2 places where she can get married.)

I'm already annoyed at her for doing it in such a short notice, one month before mine, especially since she wants to invite half of the same people. In addition, this will be the 3rd wedding that summer that the same group of my friends will have to attend.

I probably wouldn't care so much, it's just that I was the first one out of my group of friends to get engaged and set the date to get married. I like being slightly unique. Now my wedding is the 3rd one out of the bunch, all 3 in one summer. It's like a factory assembly line.

I know I'm being a bit childish, I just wanted it to be special. I know that I'm really good friends with that group, and that they would rather go to mine than any of the other 2 weddings, but still, I'm sure at the end of this, all the excitement will pass, and it will just become 'Oh, I can't believe I have to go to another wedding.'

Yes. We all know each other from HS. We didn't keep in touch with her when she was in college in Boston, but since she has graduated last year we've attended each other's birthday celebrations.

I would be a little annoyed, but at the same time, just hope it's already booked, THIS close to July! and if it is free, everyon will konw yours was first, and will always be special, b/c you have had more time to put thought into the DETIALS of the day, as opposed to planning it in 4 months!

The only thing I would be pissed off at is that she wants to have it at the same place.

I would be pissed off too. My best friend and I are getting married one month apart but we had an understanding that we wouldn't book the same major vendors, etc. I never even went to look at her hall just because I knew it wouldn't be right to have my wedding at the same place as hers. Sort of like it would take away from the surprise and excitement of hers (my wedding is first) if she enjoyed them at mine.

I would talk with her about it and let her know how you feel.

i experienced the same thing. I found another place to get married, but i was still very upset. In the end, its your day and no body will be able to take that away from you.

So she ended up booking at another place... That one was booked for her day!
Yeiii!

She keeps asking me for advice, and I'm now afraid to tell her anything good about my vendors!

I so wish hers was after mine; I would give her every single phone number, every single detail, and tell her exactly who I liked, didn't, and why.

I still gave her 3 long lists of advice, it was just very vague.

I would definitely be pissed! And hurt and upset that someone would be so inconsiderate in so many ways. I defintiely think you should talk to her. Especially if she is only a distant friend, its not like you may be jeopordizing the friendship....she already did that when she planned her wedding at the same location a month before you at the last minute!
