Would you consider this a decent raise?

Would you consider this a decent raise?

I really don't know what the standard in raises is out there.... if you were to get a raise that amounted to about $100/month more (after taxes and everything else) what would you consider that to be - pathetic? decent? good? I know it's not like WOW but relatively speaking...

that's not even a dollar raise per hour. is that right? i did the math and that's what i got. if you could ask for more - do it! cuz it sounds like you're being taken advantage of.

national raise average is 3.5%

Well it totally depends on your salary.

But usually I'd consider anything over 4% raise pretty decent.

I agree depends on the salary. If you made 25K that would be a 4.8% raise = $1200.

thats like getting a $2,000 GROSS raise on your yearly salary.
if you make 40,000, thats a 5% raise so thats not bad.

yeah $100 a month after taxes isn't bad at all.

It doesn't sound like a lot but that is considered a good annual raise.

I am working on increases now for my company. Depending on your salary, it's above the national average.

it doesn't sound like a lot, but i think it's around the average as far as raises go. It all depends on what you are making now though.

I don't think that is pretty bad. I got the same but BEFORE taxes. My dh gets 2 raises a year and gets a little more than that total AFTER taxes.

So I guess when I got my raise that I got below the national raise average since I only got a 3.3% raise.

I got a 1% raise this year. A total insult. But the co across the board only gave 2%. So after taxes etc I got a big $9 aprox a month.

I think that's pretty decent. Then again, I consider any raise good bc it's still more money in the end. My company has had a cap on the raises at 3% for the last three years, so we never get anymore than that. I think after taxes, my benefits and transportation deductions, it was only $50 more per paycheck. Like I said, better than nothing! It would be nice if we got some kind of bonus too, but we've been limited to the yearly raise, so I'll have to wait until the end of the year for my next $50 paycheck increase....

I think it's fine. It's $100 more than you had before! Just think it's like buying one less week of groceries, or having your gym membership payed for. Or your gas money for the month....
