I think it is a wonderful idea. Honestly, people don't really care about the favors anyway. How many weddings have you been to where you threw the favor out when you got home? Doing something like that would be a cute idea. And at least they can use the candle!!!

Have you been to a store called wrap with us? They have a whole bunch of favors. They also have a website.
i've heard of it. i would like to see it in pearson. unfortnuately, i don't have access to a car.
Not tacky at all. My mom is making white chocolate roses with long sticks and she wraps them in green stem like tape. Then she is going to order the ribbons with our names and date.

I did exactly the same thing. I bought shotglasses at a wholesale place on line, i bought clear sticky paper, printed our names and dates and put a candle inside. I think it looks great.
