Would you ever ask>?

Would you ever ask>?

Someone you don't really speak to anymore if you were invited to their party..

I don't speak to the girl.
She makes it clear how she feels about me and now she wants to know if she is invited to my party..

Its rude to ASK if your invited to anything like that...wedding, party - at least that's how I was raised - you don't put people in a position like that.

Don't give her the details and just tell her to keep checking her mailbox for the invitation!

I would NEVER!.. although, I was out one night and some girl, who I've hung out with but have never spoken to on the phone told me flat out 'I'm invited to your wedding!' yeah ok..

People have been doing that to me ever since I got engaged.

I just say I have not finalized the guest list yet, but I will keep your request in mind and just smile sweetly.

People have some nerve!!!!

T I would just tell her flat out: What is the interest in me all of a sudden???? We don't speak for ages and you expect me to invite you to my party?

I would never ask that in a million years. I guess this girl has no clue.

Re: Would you ever ask>?

that's obnoxious.

I had one girl invite herself to be one of my bridesmaids. I was a little taken aback. She said she would call on Friday to talk about it but I haven't heard. Maybe she forgot!

I would never ask!! That's so rude. I have an even better one. Fh's ex's cousin who has called me names because I am Spanish (if you know what I mean) and has said so much crap about me told him that she better get an invite I told Fh to tell her to shove it!

Oh my goodness! I work in a school out of state, and as soon as my co-workers got wind of my engagement, they assumed they were invited! I don't even know any of them that well, but I guess that will make it easier when they don't get their invitations in the mail!

Rachel, Hi fellow newbie! I have a question about co-workers myself. A co-worker of mine's wedding is in May this year and he has made it clear that he is inviting the boss and all of us! That's great, but I don't want to do the same. My girlfriend at work just got engaged as well and has been at the company longer than me. She also does not want to invite work people but advises me that it seems to be the 'right thing to do'. I don't know about your girls but I don't want my BOSS at my wedding!!!! What is the etiquette here?

Re: Would you ever ask>?

I think it is perfectly ok to either not give an explanation....it is YOUR day afterall, and really, who does want their boss there? OR tell everyone who asks about it that you are having a small, intimate reception. They don't need to know if that's true or not. Lucky for me, I will be moving back to NY before I ever have to invite people, so my co-workers will never ever know!
