Would you ever have thought to register here????? (Read my message before you do the poll)

I just happened to be looking on Home Depot and Lowe's websites for some home improvement ideas and products and saw that they both have Gift Registries....that got my wheels turning. We would like to completely renovate our home and while FH has all the tools he needs (I would NEVER register for tools lol NOT FUN ) I was thinking that it would be a good idea to maybe register for some of the products (fixtures, cabinets, flooring, etc.) that we would need when we renovate our house. We got a decent amount of 'bridal shower' stuff for our engagement party and also when we moved into our house alot of people bought us presents...what do you think? Is that a silly idea?

Nick Lachey registered at home depot. I think it's good idea so FH doesn't fell left out.

WOW...we were joking about that once...I can't believe you can actually do that. We have been in our house for 4 years...I've been wondering what we are going to register. We pretty much have everything we need. We plan on re-doing our kitchen after the wedding...that might be a good idea...hmmmm...Thanks for posting!

We are redoing our house, almost from top to bottom. We are looking into this. He has all the tools he needs (almost) and we don't want to register for building materials.

Can you imagine, opening a drill at the shower?!?!

No problem. We still do need some housewares that we would like to register at Bed Bath & Beyond of course but I'd rather register for some stuff that we can use to renovate our house!

I said I wouldn't.

Neither of us are very handy and we just renewed our lease so we are stuck in an apartment for at least another year.

I think it's a GREAT idea though. Most people forget that if you already live together, you already have most of the things you would need.

I have a feeling we are going to end up returning some of the stuff we register for since we don't have the room for all of it and could use the $$ for a house.

FH would probably go NUTS with the registry gun at HD or Lowe's (apparantly guys feel the same way about tools as I do about shoes ) so I'd have to keep my eye on him!!!!! Unless they looked like these

i didnt register there because i dont own a home yet, but yes - i did know they had registries there

i knew you could do it, and i think if you have definate plans to remodel and everything it's a great idea.
BUT i live in an apartment and i'd much rather have 5 differant bedding sets than tools lol

Wow, I had no clue you could register there! I think its a great idea if you are planning on renovating your house! Im assuming since you live together that you've already got most of the 'typical' bridal showery type stuff, so why the heck not! Plus thats probably way more fun for FH too!

HD or Lowe's is def a great place to register! So you can get all the essentials from all the major home categories!!!! I have seen some registries where they just add things that you can soo easily buy yourself b/c they needed to add more stuff to it!
