Would you ever tell....

...a fellow LIWer something shady that you knew about one of the vendors she booked?

After meeting with a recommended LIW vendor and meeting with one of their competitors I realized that one of them is lying to me. I am not sure if I should say something now since they already have booked with them and are so excited about it. I don't want to put a damper on things and be the one to say negative things about a vendor so publicly especially since I don't know for sure which one of the two companies lied.

Advice?

I would tell as a precautionary measure. It's good to get the heads up. Just tell her the whole story.

But I feel like now maybe its too late if she put a deposit down and everything. I also dont want to be the bearer of potentially bad news.

Tell them so they know what to look out for. Please tell us all so we all know what to look out for.

and the other thing is that I never called either vendor out on it because I just decided not to use either of them for my wedding but I definitely know that one of the two vendors always reads the posts here and that is why I don't want to publicly bash them.

i thought of that, but since I personally don't know her I don't want her to think that I am criticizing or bashing the vendor she chose and bring her down from being excited because that is not the type of person I am.

I wouldnt say anything unless she asked opinions on the vendor. Everyone has their reasons for liking or not liking a vendor.

It depends...on what the lie was about. If it coule potentially ruin her day - yes, share the news w/her and the general population on the boards. Otherwise, I wouldn't share it w/her as it may be a subjective opinion.

It is better for you to tell her and let her make her own decision as to what she will do. It will be worse if the vendor is terrible and then she finds out that you knew.

I would want to know. Tell her and then she can decide what she wants to do. It is better for you to get it off your chest now rather than feel guilty later.

You could also give your factual experience without having to bash the vendors. I think that would be the safest approach.

as long as its the truth, it should be bad - if the intentions are honest, i wouldnt mind it if someone helped me out!

You should definitely tell. Maybe she can then go in and speak with them about her concerns and she can make sure whatever it is that you found sketchy won't happen. If she doesn't know, she can't try and prevent it.
