...a fellow LIWer something shady that you knew about one of the vendors she booked?
After meeting with a recommended LIW vendor and meeting with one of their competitors I realized that one of them is lying to me. I am not sure if I should say something now since they already have booked with them and are so excited about it. I don't want to put a damper on things and be the one to say negative things about a vendor so publicly especially since I don't know for sure which one of the two companies lied.
Advice?

It depends...on what the lie was about. If it coule potentially ruin her day - yes, share the news w/her and the general population on the boards. Otherwise, I wouldn't share it w/her as it may be a subjective opinion.
I agree.....

You could also give your factual experience without having to bash the vendors. I think that would be the safest approach.
i think this is the smartest thing to do.

Re: Would you ever tell....
I'd definitely want to know. Part of the reason why I joined this board is so that I could gather people's opinions about various vendors that I am or am considering using. Even if it's 'too late' regarding a deposit, if what you're telling her is something she wants to act on, she can ask for her contract to be changed, or she can cancel the contract and save herself some heartache and stress later on. If what you're telling her is something that doesn't bother her, then there's no harm done and she can feel like she's made the best decision having considered all aspects of the situation. I guess I'm all for hearing good and bad about whatever vendor I book, and then deciding for myself if I'm willing to compromise on X to get Y...
If you approach it in a way that is respectful and doesn't make her defensive, I'm sure she'll be very grateful for your advice.
Wow I'm wordy sorry!

I know you do not want to do this, but I would publicly say your experience because in my opinion that is what these forums are for. We are all here to give a heads up about things, helpful advice, and just talk and vent about anything. Even if the company does read your post, maybe they can realize what they did and possibly change their ways for future brides. JMO

But if you don't know who lied to you then what are you going to tell her? If you aren't sure then I wouldn't say anything...
If you were certain about who lied to you then FM her. Tell her the truth. She can always delete it.

It is better for you to tell her and let her make her own decision as to what she will do. It will be worse if the vendor is terrible and then she finds out that you knew.
I would want to know. Tell her and then she can decide what she wants to do. It is better for you to get it off your chest now rather than feel guilty later.
I agree.
Could you FM me who the vendor is? I'm curious to know.....hope it not one of mine....
I saw who you are using as per your profile and it is not one of yours!

undoubtably tell her. I'm sure if you explain the whole story she'll be able sort out the information she needs to set her day right.

I did not mean to open a can of worms. Actually the more I think about it maybe most brides wouldn't even care. I am a very particular person and maybe that's why it bothered me so much personally when I had the experience.
I am in the process of reaching out to the feloow LIWer.

you could FM the bride that is using the shady vendor....
i thought of that, but since I personally don't know her I don't want her to think that I am criticizing or bashing the vendor she chose and bring her down from being excited because that is not the type of person I am.
Someone FMed me and warned me about someone and I was very thank ful!

I feel so much better now. I explained the situation to the fellow LIWer and she actually knew about it and wasn't upset at all.
Thanks for the advice ladies!
