FH and I are planning our honeymoon in italy... our wedding is there as well, so there are very specific dates we need to be there and plan around. therefore, we were gonna fly out to Florence on sept 11. i have no problem with this (ok, i admit for a minute i was like no... but then i figured what is stopping us?) and FH is fine with it too.
my mom just made a comment to me -- 'um, you're gonna fly on sept 11?'
what do you think?
p.s. I have flown a lot and have done some world travelling so i'm def not scared to fly in general...

No i wouldn't but not because i was scared to fly or scared that there would be a terrorisdt attack, but just because I would feel weird doing it.

Im not sure if I could do it. But Im sure Security is SO much tighter on that day and that they probably wouldnt think of doing anything!

I would. Like someone else mentioned, security that day will probably be better on 9/11. The chances of the same thing happening on the same day are slim. I think they'll try something else next time. Besides, I am a fatalist. When it's my time, it's my time. I won't live my life trying to avoid it.

Peresonally, no, I would not, but that's because I refuse to fly, it's just not natural But in all seriousness, I'm sure there is way better security on that day, and although it may feel a little weird, I think it would be just like any other day if you decide to fly. Maybe a little less crowded, which could be a bonus.

We flew home from our honeymoon from Hawaii on Sept 11th. We tried to change it at first because we didnt realize that leaving Hawaii on Sept 10th with the time difference meant flying all day into the night on Sept 11th. In the end it didnt bother us much though.

I would! Although it is a very sad and memorable day for all of us, life just has to go on. Not that we forget, but we can't let ourselves be stopped and our daily lives changed so much because of terriorism. Even if nothing happens and you sit in your house or don't go about life the way you want to then the terrorists have succeeded in getting to you. I'm not saying not to be cautious, do be aware and trust your gut instinct, but don't let these events keep you from doing the things you want to.

ok well i hate flying but if i had to, and it had to be on 9/11 i woudln't cancel it.
to me it is honoring those that died by showing that we won't back down to threats of terror.
