FH and I are planning our honeymoon in italy... our wedding is there as well, so there are very specific dates we need to be there and plan around. therefore, we were gonna fly out to Florence on sept 11. i have no problem with this (ok, i admit for a minute i was like no... but then i figured what is stopping us?) and FH is fine with it too.
my mom just made a comment to me -- 'um, you're gonna fly on sept 11?'
what do you think?
p.s. I have flown a lot and have done some world travelling so i'm def not scared to fly in general...

i went on vacation right after 9/11 and flew on oct 11 that year
i flew on 9/23, 2 weeks after 9/11, to Aruba, and got engaged
If it were a trip as important as my wedding/honeymoon, I wouldn't let it stop me.
I know my MIL will absolutely NOT fly that day. She believes 'anniversaries' of tragedies are prime time for terrorists to strike.

I would....I was supposed to fly on 9/12 that year....but the airports were closed. If they were open...I would have been on my plane. We all have our own story for that day...where we were, what we were doing...some of us actually in the middle of the attack, but, you can't stop living your life. Do what needs to be done...and be thankful that you still have life and can do whatever you want on any day of the year!
