One of my BM's is getting married on March 12th and her bm's are throwing her a bachlorette party at a restaurant/club in Bklyn tommorrow night. When I was invited I was only 7.5 months and felt great. Now I'm just about 38 weeks and having intermitant contractions and I'm tired. The dinner is at 9:30, 5 courses and then dancing, I was planning on just going for the dinner, but now I figure dinner will be over sometime near 12. Then I have to drive back to Staten Island alone, close to NJ to get home.
If you were in my shoes would you go? If I didnt go I would still give the MOH for my share of the dinner, but I kinda feel bad for not going to her party....what do ya think?

Re: Would you go?
I think you need to trust your gut and do what you are most comfortable with...that is the most important thing at this point in your pregnancy.

I totally agree with you. If you feel up to it, than go for it.

Re: Would you go?
Unless I was on medically ordered bedrest, I'd go to the dinner part and arrange for my husband or someone to pick me up at 11:30 pm to drive me home.

I agree...but if you don't feel up to it, then don't go...
PS. 9:30pm dinner is really late!! I wonder why they did that??

I say make a game time decision. You dont know how you are going to feel that night, and the worst thing is to be away from home when you are not feeling well. Even though you'll feel bad about not going, your friend will understand. If it were me, I probably wouldnt go only because you are so far along and your husband is not going to be there just in case anything happens.

I voted no, because of all the driving. If you can get a ride and be comfortable, then I would go.... but you need to have someone on standby nearby, you could really go into labor.

i would play it by hear. Even if you do go, nothing says you have to stay until the very end. you can leave whenever you start to feel tired.

Me too, or car pool with someone that will take you home when you have had enough.
But again, only you know how you feel. I'm sure she will understand

I wouldn't go, but send a funny gag gift so she knows you are thinking of her. I'm sure she'll understand.

Re: Would you go?
I also said no because of the driving. If you could arrange for somebody to drive you and pick you up then I would say go to it and if you're too uncomfortable you can always call someone to come pick you up. Personally I would not have felt comfortable driving that distance late at night in my 38th week.
