Did she at least send a letter, a gift or anything like that? If not, then don't bother.

NOTHING!

I think if she did not have a reasonable excuse for attending your shower and has a track record of such behavior, than I wouldn't go. I would send a gift though. But why has it become fashionable again to have a second baby shower?

If she didn't even send you a gift, than scratch what I said, and no gift for her.

If the only thing she missed was your bridal shower, I would say go. However, since she didn't attend your wedding, I can see no reason why you should attend a second baby shower for her.

Yeah I thought that was a little weird too. It sounds like she wants to be the center of attention and can't bare to give up the spot light.

sister-in-law's sister? your DH's sister or your brother's wife's sister?

i mean, it's gotta be someone's wife's sister...but i am making sure i get it right.

you don't HAVE to go. no one HAS to go to any event.

[if i read it wrong and it's one of your DH's blood sisters, you should]

Did she have a reason why she couldn't go to either of them?

It is weird to have 2 showers 2 years apart. The only people I know who have had showers were people who had a 6 year gap between their first and second child and people who had a 6 year gap between their first and third child (after two kids and 6 years, it was time to get some things replaced).

I think a card when the baby is born is sufficient.

No way, send a gift. I tired of people like that.

I wouldn't go either.

In all honesty, unless you definitely know the reasons why she didn't attend your shower or wedding....I would be the better person and attend...out of respect for his family.

However, if there was cruel intent on why she didn't attend your functions....I wouldn't go.
