Would you go somewhere on your HM, if you already went with an Ex?

Our HM plans as of now are to go on a cruise out of PR. After that we are planning on going to either Costa Rica or Barbados (leaning towards barbados because is cheaper).

But I'm again thinking about the money. Airfare is only 250 a person if we stayed in PR. To go to Barbados after the cruise, makes the airfare 700 per person. I know thats still pretty cheap but thats a big difference. So I've considered staying in PR. The thing is I've been to PR with my ex and I think that takes away from being their on my HM.

Would you guys go somewhere if you went with your Ex?

ANYWAY, my point is that I really REALLY want to go to Riviera Maya so so so so BAD but FH is refusing b/c.....well....I have no idea why...but I feel like if i'm ok with it then what's the big deal?? Apparently, he disagrees so whatever. We're looking into Punta Cana lol.

this is why I wouldn't tell my FH I went there with an ex - why let it ruin someplace he really wanted to go?

I really, really, really wanted our BP to walk into the Golden Girls theme song but FH nixed it b/c his ex forced him to watch it all the time.

I'm still pissed off about it. What's the big deal? It's a song. Sorry.

you cant really avoid everyplace you went with your ex. I think you should go to the place you both want to go to regardless of whether or not you went with your ex. your honeymoon is a time to make new memories.

It would bring back memories that I don't want to remember, especially on my honeymoon. It's a little creepy and mentally cheating, somewhat.

I'd do it! Maybe stay at a different hotel? Im sure you have been to restaurants with your fh you went to with your FH and have watched some of the same movies. Just dont think about it!

I said no... but not because I might've been there with an ex.. but because I've been there already period... we wanted to choose a place where neither of us had ever been (which wasn't hard, because we really haven't been anywhere... LOL)

Ditto. The ex-factor really wouldn't be a big deal in itself to me.

Our honeymoon isn't booked yet, but thats most likely going to be my situation also. I went to Hawaii with my ex but we were limited in where we went and what we did. We went to visit a friend that was living there and only stayed on Oahu at her house. We did some things on that island, which I think will be helpful if FH and I go there because I know what to do and what not to do. FH and I will visit 2 other islands if we do our honeymoon there, so that part of the trip will be completely new to both of us. I would say if you really want to go then do it! You can always do different things and stay at different places. The thing that will matter most if that you'll be there with your new husband.

i probably wouldn't because imagery dictates my thoughts and seeing things i've seen or done with my ex would make me think of him immediately, so not something to do on my hm, lol!

I've thought of that. My mom was saying that this time we would be staying at a nice place, not a days inn, and would be doing actual vacation stuff. Last time we spent half a day sightseeing which was basically going to the fort in old san juan and the rest of the time was visiting his family. But i think if i went back to the fort I would think of the ex... so i definitely wouldnt go back there

yes who cares it is no biggie!! GOTO COSTA RICA it is AMAZING and cheap

well FH had gone to st. lucia with an ex.. and when we were deciding on a honeymoon spot and that came up i felt weird thinking.. ok he's gonna remember that he did these things with her.. and i want to go someplace with my new hubby where we can make our own memories..so yea for the HM i would prefer to go someplace neither of us had been and save those other trips for another time.

I dont think I would....certain places remind me of certain people, and I dont think I'd want that for my honeymoon.

i've been to spain with my ex and i def. wouldnt want to go back there on my hm!

maybe go back for a vacation with my dh but that would be last on the list.
