I would, especially if you are going to know people there. But I enjoy traveling alone- I went to London by myself before I met DH and had a fabulous time.

I went to a wedding alone and didn't know anybody there (at least in person , it was a LIW wedding) and it was OK, just a little loney when all the couples were dancing and I was left all alone. I would say travelling alone is the worst part. If it was a really good friend I would go, but just an acquantance I would skip it.

I wouldn't go if you don't know anyone else going. I just got back from Vegas, and had a few days at a conference before DH arrived, and trust me when I say it is pretty d@mn boring alone. Unless you have tons of $ to lose gambling, which I did not.
