would you invite this person??? (kinda long, sorry!)

ok...so obviously for our engagement party we invited lots of our friends....one person (& his wife) who we invited...i will say he is a 'work related friend' of FH's.... acted like a total jerk...

i made little bags of personalized m&m's for favors...he began throwing them at people as a joke...they wound up allllll over the floor! and not only did i spend lots of time & money on these, but then i had to kneel down IN MY DRESS at the end of the night & clean them up! (we had our e party at a local firehouse)

so MY QUESTION IS THIS..... would you invite him to your wedding???

he already got a 'save the date' and obviously was invited to the e party. but he acts like such an a$$ no matter where he goes! (he has a reputation for being obnoxious and doing off-the-wall things! in fact- hes the reason i wont put disposable cameras on the tables at the wedding bc i know i'll get 24 picctures of his a$$ crack!) Im sooo scared of what he might do at the wedding..he has no respect for anyone or anything. im scared he might offend someone in my family or something.

is it totally rude if hes not invited to the wedding, even tho he got an STD & came to our e party??? i dunno what to do! HELPPPPP!!!!

hmmm.. would it be rude.. prob.. would i do it anyway. definetly.. he's not family.. from what u've described he's not even a friend.. he's the annoying loser dude from work that still acts like he's in high school. i mean come on.. throwing m&m' at a function? you're HOW OLD?

no i' wouldn't pay x mount of dollars plus tax and gratuity to feed him.. i'd let his childish behind sit at home with a plate of chicken fingers and french fries....

and sidenote.. i have a neighbor that i HAND delivered a std to.. he hs since pissed me off and annoyed me so he won't be getting an invite.. and i'll be walking out of my house in a wedding dress in front of him!

Anyone who gets a save the date gets an invite.

I know the ettequitte rules, blah, blah, blah....., BUT COME ON!!!! Throwing food....???

I have no tollerance for people like that who destroy property and are immature.

The fact that you cant put out table cameras at YOUR WEDDING b/c of HIM is insane.

Is he close w/ FH at work? If not, I would probably just 'forget' to invite him.

What does FH think? If FH wants him there, I would have him talk to him like he's his mommy and teach him that you dont act that way at a function.

If you do invite him. Give your matre'd instructions and permission to escort him out at the fist act of immaturity.

oh my god!! even though he got a save the date card, i would say screw it and just ''forget'' to invite him. if he is not a good friend of either one of you , then who cares. i couldnt let the possibility of some immature guy make a fool out of himself in front of family and friends.

i actually didnt invite 2 people for that reason also. and no table cameras for me either

thanks ladies!

i still dunno what to do though!

FH says 'i dunno' whenevr i ask him whether we can not invite him.

the problem is we would see him a lot...he works with FH anddd hes in the local fire dept with him..so we will DEF see him around at stuff

and other guys from work/the firehouse WILL be invited to the wedding.

i'm torn...i just dont know what to do.

even if FH had a 'talk' with him...he wouldnt control himself...

URGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

i would still invite him.. i'm sure in a more formal type setting he'll behave better.. i don't think what he did is like horrific enough to not invite him though.

That is one of the reasons I don't like the idea of STDs. So much can happen between the beginning of planning and the actual wedding.

Invite the a$$, have FH have a little sit-down with this guy to tell him to be a bit more mature at the reception, food throwing is for summer camp not a wedding. If the guy starts to act up, just have the maitre'd escort him off the premises.
If the a$$ takes offense at the sit-down, then he can politely respond NO.

Yes, invite him. He sounds like a jerk, but not inviting him could make work uncomfortable for your FH. If he throws food at your engagement party, it wouldn't be surprising he gives your FH crap about not getting an invitation.

As far as table cameras, I suggest going forward with all your plans without taking him into consideration. If you're really worried, assign a bridal party member to keep him under control.

By the way, did the wife just sit there like nothing was going on or did she do anything to try to control the a$$ ?

i guess i will wind up inviting him bc otherwise it will be awkward..grrr!!!

his wife just sat there...but thats bc she is used to him being a jerk..he has been for YEARSSSS!!!

heres an ex...3 yrs ago we r at the local firehouse bc i threw a surprise party for FH... my sister walks by this guy carrying two pickle jars bc she was helping me set up...this guy says to my sister..WHO HE HAS NEVER MET BEFORE...... 'nice jugs!!!!'

my sister almost fell over!!!

crazyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ill just put him in the back corner & make sure i sit him with people who already know him and already know what an a$$ he is!

i woudlnt invite him to the wedding.. i dont care what ettitque rules say... obviously by throwing food he doesnt either.. so just say there was a guest list crunch if he asks.. or tell him the truth .. u were an a$$!

Ugh, you are 'supposed' to invite him but what an a$$. Anyway you can talk to him wife or something? Or can DH talk to him to lay down the law of keeping it under control at the wedding? That may provoke him more though. Ugh, I don't know...go with your gut. If you don't want him there, I say who cares about etiquette.

honestly ..I wouldnt...however would that make work undomfortable for FH? or is there any way FH can talk to him about his behavior?

Normally, the rule is if someone was invited to your e-party and received an STD then they should be invited to the wedding. However, I think there are exceptions to the rule. This guy clearly does not know how to act appropriately and despite his age does not behave as an adult should at a formal affair. I know many children who are more mature than he is. That said, I would not invite him to the wedding, and maybe just maybe he'll realize how inappropriate his behavior is and learn from it.

i agree, i normally say to follow etiquette like that but why use etiquette for someone who has absolutely no manners at all and no respect for you.

If it were me I would tell him 'let me know now if you're going to act like an a** bc i dont want to deal with BS on my wedding day and someone to disrespect my guests, if you can't act like a civilized human being then you're not invited, if you can respect ME and my FH, including all our guests than you're more than welcome ' if you dont want to confront him then tell Fh to talk to him and really set him straight.

Something should've been said to him after the e-party for what he did.

Have FH sit down and talk with him. He needs to explain that he really wants him at the wedding but that his usual antics will NOT be tolerated.

The guy will know better.

Good luck!

I wouldn't invite him. Put him on the B list and see how you feel closer to the deadline.
