MY FH IS IN CONSTRUCTION...THINKING ABOUT DOING A GROOMS CAKE FOR HIM WHAT DO YOU THINK?
my dh didnt want one, he said it was a waste of money and that we already have 1 cake there and that was enough

I think the grooms cake came into existence so guys could enjoy a cake they think is cool. The same question could be asked about a 'bachelorette' party, years ago they were called a 'bridal shower' oh, wait the ladies still have that one too!!!!I think a groom's cake is a wonderful idea because much of the focus of a wedding is on the bride and its a way for a bride to let her husband know she was thinking about him.
The actual historical reason for a grooms' cake is rather insane. It's way back when - they used to have a groom's cake as a separate cake at the wedding. The grooms' cake would be cut up and given to the single women at the wedding - for them to put it under their pillow so that they would dream of their future husband. I kid you not. My Wedding Planner told me she had looked into it..
I'm going to do one for my FH - incorporating all his fave sports - it'll be a Steelers Jersey with a Yankee hat laying on it, a Nets basketball next to it and a terrible towel on the jersey as well. I'm going to do it at the rehearsal dinner though...
hmm i would love to do one for FH and have him be srprised about it at the wedding but we are having a huge veinse hr...Im not sure if it pays??
