a video screen showing the reception throughout? I am thinking of cancelling some options but need to replace with something else. Do you think this might be too intrusive?
I am also thinking about the photo montage, but am not sure that I would want this (I have too much going on time wise during the reception.)

i LOVE it i have been to weddings that have had it and i liked it i thought it was GREAT.(the montage) -------- i was not going to get it because it was thousands of dollars. and fh said it was not worth it .and i really wanted it . my mom and dad went to a wedding that had it & my cuz had it - my parents liked it also so THEY are paying for it (a little extra gift )
***plus if some people do not go to the church -before you come out they show parts of the church..it's cute

I have seen a photo montage of the bride and groom growing up at the cocktail hour at a wedding done at the Riviera in Brooklyn. It looked like the beginning part of a wedding video and ran on a loop. I think they had monitors built in to the walls. It looked cute and it did not get in anyone's way - more of a background type of thing. As for the reception, I don't like the idea of a screen at all. JMO.

i think its better for other purposes...i would use it for montage say on speical dances..like the first dance... mother/son, etc....

My thoughts too. I considered doing that for special times in the reception but ended up not (due to costs/time), etc.

Ive been to weddings that had it and loved it soo much we are doing it as well. Its great to see the couples growing up and what we are doing is putting up group family shots of us after age 9 we dont want too many photos of just us thats cheesy. We are also doing digital during the reception and every time people sit to eat the screen will come down to show, our families are excited and cant wait- we have that type of family and friends who arent worried about what they look like on screen as one said about being reserved and may not like your pic on screen, you have to remember plain weddings are not whats in anymore, your guests ARE looking for whats new and they do talk about what you did or didnt do. with so many in our family getting married all around the same time we are doing different things to make our weddings unique. my brother is the last of us 6 so I cant to see what they do. but first he needs a girlfriend, lol!!!!

I went to a few weddings that had the photo montage and I loved it...and the one wedding that had the digital pictures throughout was a nice touch....but i have to admit.....there were about 100 pics that kept playing throughout the night, and I always looked for our picture!!
So, my attention was on that screen for a lot of the night.

I am having the montage/screen. We went to a wedding that had it- I didin't think it was intrusive at all- I was never bothered by the photographer. Everyone was talking about it and thought it was great.

I dont know about a view of the reception. Ive never heard of that.
I would do the photo montage but you can make a movie yourself on movie maker and its real easy. I wish I could show you one we made. We use videos and photos. Every wedding we go to the guests really seem to enjoy it - we go into how we met, when he was thinking of asking, how he asked... etc :)
