Would you rather get TY Cards at your shower or buy your own?
Need opinions. As many of you know I am in the midst of throwing a baby shower for a close friend. I almost got her Thank You cards the other day so that she would have them but then I thought, I wonder if she would rather pick out her own. What is your opinion?

I personally would want to pick my own. Something that reflects my personality.

IMO...you can always use TY cards...if she wants to pick out her own...she can...and then use the ones you give later...
it might be a blessing not to have to go out and buy TYs...considering with all the preparations I am sure she is doing...

I threw my sisters bridal shower...and picked up TYs for her. They were simple white cards with 'TY' in silver script. She appreciated not having to run to the store to pick them up herself.

This was one of the best gifts I got! The envelopes were even addressed for me!!

I think its a nice gesture Michelle, it would be so easy on her. You could probably help write them too. I think you getting them is a great idea. One less thing for the mommy to be to do

I was just at a shower where the brides Mom gave each person an envelope and had us put our address on it. She said she wanted to make sure she had everyones most up-to-date info (even though she must since we got the shower invite!) Anyway when I got the thank you the enevelope was in my writing. So the bride just had to write the card out.
but to answer your question, I got invites at my shower and didn't mind.It was one less thing for me to worry about

Since the whole shower is the Think Pink theme I wanted to get her TYs to match. But I wouldn't write them out since a) the shower is rather small so she will not have hundreds to write out and b)I think she would want to do that herself.
But I will have a complete listing of who gave what for her at the end of the shower, which I think is a huge help!

I think its a great idea...I very rarely get a shower thank you at all so I'm going to start throwing them in the wishing well myself!
The more I think about it, the more I realize I know a lot of rude people!

I would definetely want to get my own. If you get them at a shower, you might feel obligated to use them and everybody has their own taste in what kind of thank you they want to send. The shower I was at this weekend, the bride got thank yous as part of a gift and she already picked out thank yous she likes.

I think it would be nice to get one that goes with the theme of the shower. I am sure the mommy to be would appreciate having one less errand to do.

I'm hoping I get thank yous for my shower!!! For my wedding, I had purchased informal notes to match my invites, but I need baby shower TYs! My sisters are pretty crafty (and thoughtful), so I think they'll get them for me!
I'm sure your friend would appreciate them!

I like the idea of having the TYs match the invites AND that they are all ready to write when the shower is over so I would give them to her.

I think giving her the TY's is a great gift. They will match the inviations and theme and it's one less thing for her to have to worry about. I think she will really appreciate it.

My Mom did that for me - matched the theme of the party & the invitations. AND she made a second set of mailing labels for all the people they sent invites to!
I think it's a great idea - I loved it!

I would want to get my own, but I get very picky about things like that. It depends on how picky she is and how important she considers that the Thank You's looks as she wants it to look.
