Well....I have stayed at my job and turned down much better offers because I am HAPPY, I have a GREAT work enviroment, that will be conducive to starting a family...BUT I AM SICK OF BEING BROKE!!

As long as I had enough money to survive, then yes I would prefer less pay for a happier lifestyle. I agree about money not buying happiness, but if I'm living off canned tuna and cup o' noodles, then no. LOL

I just recently accepted a pretty cr@ppy job at a pretty cr@ppy company, but they offerred me more money than what I was making, so I took it. I stayed there for 8 months, and looked for another job. Viola...I'm at JPMorgan now making double what I was making and loving my job.
So to answer your question above: sometime's it's worth taking a job you hate for more money b/c then you have motivation to find something else you like and have a basis for the amount you make!

Definitely less money and be happy. As sad as it is, we spend most of our waking hours at work, and it's important to be happy there and have it be a relatively stress free situation.

Love my job but the pay really s u c k s!!! I honestly don't know if I would take a job that paid more if I knew I would be miserable. It just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I'm a big advocate of loving what you do over making a lot of money. I'm in the non-profit world so money is rather scarce but I wouldn't give up what I do for anything. I actually left a few years ago for a position that paid way more but I wasn't happy and went back.

It is one of the worse feelings to wake up in the morning and not want to go to work, because you absolutely hate your job. I have been there. I get paid peanuts at my job now, but I absolutely love it. I look forward to going to work in the morning.

When you're happy with your job, it doesn't feel like work. It feels like your getting paid for something you enjoy doing. I would rather have that any day instead of dreading of where I have to go when I wake up in the morning....
