If you could only do one or the other, would you have a wedding reception, or a honeymoon? (you'd still have a ceremony either way)
i think i'd go for the HM ... it lasts longer lol

imo its more important so share this special day with close family and friends.
we almost didnt go on a hm. due to last minute vet bills. i told dh i dont care about a hm !!!! our little boy shih tzu and our wedding day is more important. he was so happy to hear that from me.
freakin guy booked it the day before our wedding. i still dont know he pulled it off

haha, i guess i'm the only one who'd go for a HM ... i'd just celebrate with them some other way. i've never dreamt about my wedding day, and i don't fully love the idea of having all that attention on me! so yeah, i'd take a nice looong vacation

defiantely HM! FH and I have often discussed this and we both agree we should have just had a HM and forget about the reception
One thing we both agreed is that we were not going to let the wedding costs cut into the honeymoon. We were lucky and ended up having a nice wedding and a nice hm but if I could pick one, I would pick a nice HM even if it meant just having a city hall wedding.

we go on 2 'big' vacations a yr (by big, i mean 7+ days)
thebeach will always be there... reception only happens once

As much as we loved our recepetion we both said that our honeymoon in Hawaii was absoluetly amazing. If we could have only done one or the other we would have gone on a HM. It was great spending so much time together, just us. Not worrying about bills, or how expensive anything was.

Reception. We can go on vaycay anytime (as it is, we're holding off on our HM for awhile due to moving in together + Ramadan starting early this year).
But you can only have a reception once!

Reception. I feel like you can travel anytime, but you only have that one day for the reception.
