i registered for a roomba and i was all happy about it but then my sisters boyfriend said its not good and i might as well buy a regular vacuum.. he said it gets stuck and only does light cleaning.. i thought it would save some cleaning time at home... what do you think??

We had one - it stunk. I threw it down the stairs b/c it was so bad.
I definitely do NOT recommend it - unless you buy it for - like your bro said - light cleaning.

I was looking into one - they are on the 50th or so prototype of it - in other words, the newest model is WAY better than earlier versions. So people may not have been as pleased with theirs unless they got them recently.
They have bigger dirt trays, intelligent cleaning, etc.
I am considering getting one, but only if it's the newer model.

My mom has roomba, and she is a vacuuming FANATIC. Anyway, she loves her roomba. She puts it on in the morning while she gets ready and it vacuums the whole house. You do have to watch out for chair legs, cords, and other obstacles. Over all, if you don't mind moving some things out of the way, it works quite well. And I agree that they have improved it over the years!

I LOVE my Roomba. I have it scheduled to turn on every night while we are asleep and when I wake up my den and kitchen are perfect.

Re: would you recommend roomba??
we just got one... our house is on the market and we wanted to save some cleaning time... we LOVE it!! we even named him Zack LOL DH got it online, its a refurbished one ( one that somebody returned and then the factory fixed up) we paid like $150 for one that is normaly close to $300!! it really works well! we have the scheduler one, so we set it to turn on while we're gone during the day... and the house looks great when we come home! it even does under my bed and dresser for me!! we have a dog, and it really does a ncie job picking up all the dog hair, etc.... the only thing i've noticed is, like somebody else said, it can get caught on cords, so you just have to make sure they're out of the way.... i don't think it 100% replaces a regular vaccum, but it DEFINITELY makes life easier!

Re: would you recommend roomba??
Its good for light cleaning only, it doesnt have great sucking power It will pick up visible stuff. So yes I do recommend it, but you still need a good vaccuum for a thorough cleaning!
I love my roomba! He does light cleaning, we run him once a week and do a deep cleaning every month. FH is a clean freak.

it will go under anything it can fit under... if your couch is high enough off the ground, it will go under it... it goes under our bed and dresser, desk in the office, under the kitchen table, under our coffee table and end tables... as long as it can fit under it, it will do it
