Would you sing at your wedding?

Original post by gtbride04

Okay up until this point I had refused to sing at the wedding although everyone (family and MOH) keeps on telling me that I should- I just thought it would be hard and that I probably would be too emotional to get through the song. Anyway yesterday it dawned on me that maybe I should (after listening to Alicia Keys- If I Ain't Got You on the LIRR) I am really considering it (especially because FH has mentioned it- not really asked- a few times). If I did, I would do it at the reception- but I don't know at what point, but so that it would be a total suprise to FH- everyone else.

Do you think I should do it? At what point at the reception. Has anyone ever seen this (I've seen it at the wedding on TLC's wedding story a few times).

Thanks

i am considering surprising him at the rehearsal dinner with a song. I think it's an awesome idea-go for it!

Go for it! I am considering it myself, but may actually record it and have the DJ play it at the reception. I think I would be too nervous and emotional to do it live

I would sing if I were you. Just the other day I was debating whether I should sing at my reception when it finally arrives. It's absolutely a beautiful thing for your FH and guests to enjoy. It's a moment that your FH and you will treasure forever. Just think most people wouldn't have the courage to do something like this. Be different and don't be one of those people. Look at it this way...a song usually lasts about 5 min. or it's even shorter. That small moment when you sing will definitely never be forgotten by your FH and your guests. What are you thinking about singing?
