OK so I found out that the BP is going to be wearing red. Should I return the dress and look for another?
It looks short here but it's not that short on my b/c I'm very petite
in green (i dont' think it gives the dress the same effect) close up

If it's a holiday theme wedding I bet there will be more than a few red dresses. If you are really worried maybe put a shawl or wrap with it.....or even some bold jewelery.

lol MIL was just telling me she was looking at wearing a red dress (it's a cuz of DH's fam wedding) soo...ah I don't feel so bad. The bm dresses are 'Claret' color so they are in between red and wine color I think. I wouldn't get confused with the bp b/c they're wearing long dresses so I dont' think that will be an issue.

Good ok, I knew about the white of course....but it's a Christmas themed wedding so I didn't think anything was wrong with it. Thank you!
my wedding is 5 days before xmas so of course my girls are wearing like a deep red dress (unfortunately it looks a little redder than i wanted it to) and my aunt told me she bought a RED dress (Like fire engine red).
I didn't really care. I mean her 2 kids are in the bridal party so I think it was a little weird since she knew what color they were wearing. But whatever...
I think you should be fine wearing it I wouldn't be mad if more people showed up in red...it's the season. But if you feel uncomfortable I think the green is gorgeous too

Ok this is JMO, but if the Bridal party is wearing some sort of red then i would not wear it.
I know you wouldnt get mixed in, but i was at a wedding in may ( Dh brother & wife renewed there vows) we the BP wore pink dresses, and one of the g-mom and mothers wanted to wear pink, even after they know what color the Bp was, and the Bride was very upset about it

I actually like it in the green and think it would look really nice on you. Claret would be a little different than this shade of red, so it should be fine to wear.

I wore a bright red dress to a winter wedding last year. I really don't pay to much attention to traditions and what not (except for white) so I don't care. BTW: The BP was in red ALSO!! DH wore a red tie and we looked adorable! My dress was floor length with a sweep, so not as short as yours but a V-neck like it.
The groom is a second cousin of DH so we don't talk much expect for family events. At my shower it came up about her wedding and I had asked her about her BM dresses. I told her a felt a little silly that I was in red too and she said ' I didn't even notice' and I spent time outside with her smoking. It doesn't take attention off the BP because I didn't even notice how many of my girlfriends wore pink until after my wedding and I saw non-pro pics.

hmmm, i don't think it's bad that it's knee length at all, i think the fact that it's knee length makes it even better for you to wear to a wedding
only thing, were you told specifically that the bm's were wearing red so that you perhaps don't? if definitely not, you just heard, then i think it's cool, the dress is pretty
