would your fh be pis@ed if you...

went on a girls only vacay?? I have been thinking I want to go visit one of my best friends & bridesmaid who lives in london. I was in her wedding last year and right after they moved. i am a teacher so i have mid winter break in feb. I was thinking of meeting my friend in either paris or portugal or maybe amsterdam for 5 nights. we went to hs together and are really close. my friend and her husband will be in our wedding. they come to the us frequently and spend time with us but we have never been to visit them.

my fh has made comments in the past about other ppl going away without their partners and he hates it. I'm going to ask him would he be ok with it when he gets home tonight. i just feel like since my fh is in the police academy now it's not like he'll be bored at home w/o me.

what would your fh say??

I wouldn't go to Europe without my FH simply b/c neither of us have been there.

If you know your FH hates the concept, don't be surprised if he isn't thrilled with you going.

II'm all for 'guys' or 'girls' nights or trips or whatever... but I'm not sure how FH would react to me going to another continent without him, especially while he'd be busting his asss at the police academy.

We have been to europe together and it was a blast. i have a feeling he might not be that upset b/c we were (the girls) suposed to go to vegas for my b-party but it fell through and he was ok with that. i wish he would come home already so i can ask.. another thing is i am so freaking attached to him it is almost pathetic. when he is in the academy at night i am sitting waiting for him b/c i miss him so much.

well, it seems like you really want to go, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that he's cool with it.
The only thing is, when my brother was in the academy I know one of the things that helped him through was having either his family or his then fiance to help him through it. Just something to think about.

well i just booked a trip today with my friends for my bachelorette party without fh obviously...He has no problem with it. Even for other occasions he would not mind if i go without him, he gets happy for me...i also have no problem with him going with his friends either.

No he wouldn't be mad at all...in fact he's got all his breaks planned out and he's going places without me. Last spring break I went to DC without him and I came back and he missed me so that was kinda nice lol.

My FH would be jealous he wasnt going but he wouldnt mind or try to stop me for that matter. Let him know you want to visit your friend and you guys have the rest of your lives to be together!

update: so i asked him and he said that i should go and have a blast but he will miss me. oh, and he said NO DANCING w/ other guys. lol...

He said if i said i wanted to go somewhere tropical that was a no no b/c that's a partying trip and he would want to be there.

No way! It wouldn't be fair if we started to tell each other what to do and not to do. I already have parents....FH is my other half, not authority to dictate things. On top of that, he'd never do it!

FH and I travel separately a lot. He went to Florida twice last year by himself. I've gone on extended weekends with the girls a few times. We actually encourage each other to do these things. Maintaining a separate life is good for my soul. Plus, it gives us more to converse about and it's adorable when we share an interest in each other's worlds. So to answer your question....no...FH wouldn't be pissed at all. He'd be very excited for me and help me in any way at all with any of my plans to make it happen. I'd do the same for him.

i think he would be more upset of me spending the $$ right now than going without him. I dont think he would mind otherwise....well maybe a little. Like i said he would be more upset about spending them $$ right now

I don't know if he would mad but he would be upset. I was going to go with my MOH to the Bahamas a few years ago and he was sad but he was ok with it......it turned out we didn't go but I also felt guilty going without him.

I dont know if FH would be ok with it either. I was going to go to Ireland with my cousin and he was a bit upset. Hes never been there befpre and I think he was feeling like he was missing something. Maybe if it was the bahamas or Florida hed be ok
