WOW!!!

Re: WOW!!!

OY VEY I cannot take this crap anymore.. Truly, I am DONE

AS USUAL .. FOR whatever REASON.. this has turned into a YANKEE/MET debate.

Not for nuthin, but I COULD CARE LESS about the friggin METS. I wish them well, I hope we kick their azzes come Subway Series time.. I do semi-hope they go down the crapper by seasons' end, just for laughs.. but really every other game during the regular season that the Mets play means NOTHING to me.

But for now, IN APRIL no less, I don't care if the Mets score 20 runs a game or none. Makes no diff to me as a Yankee fan.

AND further, as a Yankee fan, I have bigger worries than how the Mets are doing, if the Mets fans are rooting for that azz Pedro, who on the Mets are playing better than the Yankees, yadda yadda

I know I'm ranting, but I'm just sick and tired of every debate on these boards being METS VS YANKEES. Its irrelevant, IMO

ETA: I can come back with a MILLION reasons why the YANKEES will NEVER be the Mets .. but for the sake of my sanity and healthy, I politely refrain

Home grown for the first few years.

BOUGHT (and overpaid grossly) to stay with the Yanks.

Sorry... you lose on that arguement.

Seems that even the REAL , authentic Mets fans cannot stick to their own board either

I know - Rich is 'excluded' from the rules of these boards.. yadda yadda..

Doesn't mean I'm debating this stuff anymore. We'll have time for that when it MATTERS, later in the season

Blah as for last year!

I have my hopes up! And when wanting DAVID WRIGHT or A-ROD
with the exception of you (and i think you are silly to even say)

EVERYONE AND ANYONE ...would pick A-Rod...

And when i said Blah...it is such that he hasn't lived up to my expectations last year...
DOes that mean he isn't an AWESOME baseball player....NO! NOT EVEN CLOSE!

He will do well ! He will do well with the YANKEES!

Red just doesn't buy the arguement that the best teams are built around a SINGLE player (or two). Yes if that SINGLE player goes down... the team would crumble. Any team would.

The Yanks just have a bunch of cheifs and no indians. Half of them could go down at the same time... and yeah it wouldn't necessarily break their momentum.

It would just do the usual, which equals an early exit from the playoffs.

Re: WOW!!!

Don- as for the momentum that Pedro has created...NOTHING WRONG WITH IT...it is FABULOUS for the METS and their fans

BUT....and this is a BUT...

Without him, one person, they will crumble...

The Mets are really turning this into something really great for them...I just think that if and when Pedro dfoesn't live up to this superstar status (which eventually will happen)....

Like any other Met season of yester year...They will crumble...and pulling them back up, expecially by only ONE PERSON...will be difficult

I absolutely, positively DISAGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT

I will use the first example that comes to mind to prove my point: that being the WORLD SERIES WINNERS of 1996, the NEW YORK YANKEES - a team who were definitely NOT built around a SINGLE player of dominance.. in fact, you could probably go position by position back in 1996 and find BETTER 'players' to fill each role on that team... if stats and number truly MEAN anything, which they don't

Quite honestly, they were a team that I wish the Yankees still had now - one with players who did WHATEVER it took to WIN .. even putting their personal goals and number aside. They had drive and hunger and determination, but yet I dare say there was not ONE particular person who could be singled out as the reason they prevailed that year .. THey were the complete UNDERDOGS in that series, yet they prevailed

Top that

Yup!

Take away Vlad from LAA, Bonds from SF, RIVERA FROM THE YANKS, Manny from the BoSox....

You have a team that was good... turn into a very bad team overnight.
