I think there are a good amount of Yankee fans out there that would MUCH rather have David Wright on that team over E-Rod.

They would never admit it to a Met fan though so I am not expecting anything.

LOL... its not opinion... its fact. I can actually say something that Don can't say (yet).

I was at Pedro's 1st start at Shea. The fans are bigtime behind him. Hell... the ovation he got when they had the batter's eye problem last week was plenty believeable.


And since you are talking reality... lets talk reality.

Johnson - 4 starts - 5.13 ERA - 24 hits - 27K - 5 HRs

Pedro - 3 starts - 2.45 ERA - 8 hits - 30K - 1 HR - 1 Complete Game


And while Pedro lost the first game in Cincy thanks to an Adam Dunn shot that hit the moon... Pedro defeats John Smoltz... AND defeats Al Leiter.

Johnson can't even beat Tampa freakin' Bay.

Chew on that.

MY POINT BEING...and this is true!

1. Pedro is building the momentum on the METS team. Without him they would fall...AND THAT IS SAD

I am not talking about how well he plays that OBVIOUSLY speaks for itself ....BUT you have to admit the momentum that was and is being created by HIS and HIS ALONE's presence...It has made a HUGE impact on the team....AND WHAT I THINK IS SAD is that they would most definately FALL AND CRUMBLE WITHOUT HIM!

2. AND the fact that he had such a backing at his first game IS A JOKE...

You get support initially... but if you falter... support be gone.

The yanks have their share of players too in this category. (Tom Gordon for starters)

Not much imo.

Giambi, A-rod, JOhnson...they should be and should have done MUCH better than they have...

They haven't lifted us to superstar status alone! We would NOT crumble
