WOW guess guys do the same thing

Ok so i was downstairs before, and this guy was telling another man that he bought an engagement ring for his girlfriend. The man turns to him and doesnt say congratulations or anything of that sort but the first thing out of his mouth is 'so how many carats?' the guy even looks at him in shock and repeats 'how many carats?' and says it twice, i guess from his surprise, the man kinda puts his head down and i think realizes it was a bit rude, but then the guy answers him kind of in a hesitant way, so the man i guess thought oh ok since he already answered, why not ask more questions such as clarity the guy tells him says 1Z or maybe 1C i have no clue bc honestly i dont even know what any of this means, i hear ppl throw around the letters and numbers and im clueless lol. The guy goes oh perfect clarity yeah i know exactly what that is and then talks about it being princess cut and all.

I dont know why but i just found it so rude and couldn't believe it

haha OMG...yeah my best friend asked me how many carats...i was hesitant at first because she prides on the fact that she needs more than 2 carats and nothing else and it shouldnt be under $7000!! WHAT I say you get what FH can afford he shouldnt have to take a loan out to get a ring for oyu even though it has sentimental value his love means more to me than the ring!

But then her BF asked my FH the same question and FH said he was kinda taken back but wasnt cause the BF was just curious because he might be getting one soon for my best friend and didnt know really anything about rings and was asking him for advice kinda...but fh after talking to the bf wasnt as shocked because he is friends with teh guy and was giving him advice about clarity and cut

but that is kinda rude i think...what does it matter you should congratulate him for taking a further step in his life and how he foud the one he wants to be with forever!

Re: WOW guess guys do the same thing

man that is scary - when people see my ring they go oh - how cute don't dare ask the size. But if we are around people who have a bigger ring they always get asked that question. FH despises the remarks - i personally laugh at it.

I guess I escape the stupidity since I have a small ring but it is also rude when you use the word CUTE it kills fh. I said I rather have a ring that fit our budget now this way on our five or ten year ann we can my rings and get new ones made from the old stones and it then we will see who's ring is bigger! hahah

i hate that question, i think i said it once when someone made a comment but even after i was annoyed with myself for having answered it...besides two very close friends i dont tell ppl. I get very uncomfortable about it.

Yeah when he asked what i liked all i said was...I like the princes or the emerald cut...then he asked about the clarity I was like huh
CLEAR...then he said you you are too expensive I had no clue what he meant. I really don't care. But people do get nosy and ask about cost and carats ...I think this just needs to be ignore like the guy did ..with dead silence or acting like he was deaf..How many carat?? huh..lol
