Wow... I had the longest drive back EVER

Wow... I had the longest drive back EVER

10 hours! It's usually a 7-7 1/2 hour drive... 8 hours MAX.

First off, everything was moving a little slow due to the rain, which i figured might bring me a little closer to the 8 hour mark...

Of course I hit traffic in Brooklyn and Statan Island...

Then I sat in Allentown for an hour for a little bit of construction. (no, really, the construction area was less than 3 miles and it took over an hour to get through). Then, of course, there was an accident as soon as I got o VA.

And an old woman tried to kill me. I was in the right lane, and she decided that she wanted to be too, so she tried to merge right where I was - and of course I couldn't see it coming cuz she didn't use her blinker

Seriously, we really need a law that says after the age of 65, every 3 or 5 years you need to take a road test.

I agree...unfortunately, my job doesn't!!!

One of my clients was a 92 year old man who hit 4 parked cars...the state was trying to take his license away, but somehow I argued my way into letting him keep it...didn't feel so great that he would be on the road, but happy that I won!!!

Glad you made it back safely. 10 hours!!! That's why we always leave in the middle of the night (12 a.m. - 2 a.m.) since not many people are on the roads.

ETA- My grandma is 73 and just got her license in 1995 or 1996 when my grandpa died. She's a great driver.

I'm not saying all seniors are bad drivers, I'm just saying they need to best tested to weed the ones that try to kill me out

My one grandma is 75 and a good driver, the one who's 76 has ALWAYS been a bad driver. Thankfully, she realized that a few years ago and has since stopped.

Re: Wow... I had the longest drive back EVER

I love my grandfather very much...but I truelly believe that if the DMV retested him he would fail before the car even moved. The man stops at green lights and goes at red lights. He is 82 years old, and sometimes gets a little confused, and a little lost while driving. I understand that driving is a freedom most people don't want to give up...but when it comes to their saftey and the safty of others people who no longer have the skills and reflexes required for driving need to stop driving. I only hope that when the time comes I willing give up driving.
