WOW...Make-up VENDOR RANT!

So, as some of you know, I have been having a hard time locating a make up artist. Most of the ones suggested on here have been booked already for my wedding day.

I received some FM from girls suggesting that I contact Karen from Karenthemakeupartist.com.
I contacted her on Friday and we went back and forth through email- she sounded so sweet and said she was available to do it a trial on Monday anytime after 11. She asked me to call her Monday morning with directions and she would be able to come straight from her earlier apt. I call her at 11 and leave her a message. She calls me back at 11:30 and tells me that she is no longer able to do a trial today bc she made plans with some friends!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, she sounds professional. I've been sitting here all morning with her make up trial money in my hand and she decided to make plans with friends. Please keep in mind that this was all said with lots of 'likes' and 'uums'. I felt as if I was talking to one of my students!

She said she could come late tonight- but I asked her what the point of that was if I wanted to see how long it would last for. She suggests that I let her come tonight and go out after. I explain to her that I have work tomorrow and being that I'm a teacher, I was actually off today. She then proceeds with an attitude to tell me that 'if I want she can cancel her plans and turn around and come over right now'. You have to be kidding me? You think I'm going to hire someone now that is this unreliable? She cancelled a bride's wedding trial to go out with her friends?? She said she didnt read my email bc she's having problems with her email and therefore assumed since she hadn't been able to read her email, that I was not able to see her today! Does that make sense?

I'm sorry for the long rant but I can't believe that someone who is a 'professional' would do this. I'm usually not one to ever bad mouth someone but this really urked me! I'm back to square one with make up... I am just looking for airbrushing with a very natural look. Any more suggestions???

you should just try ULTA for makeup, since you want something natural looking anyway, i am going to get my makeup done there..

yuck, i would hate to work with someone flaky.

good luck finding someone, i havent started looking yet...

you should just try ULTA for makeup, since you want something natural looking anyway, i am going to get my makeup done there..

Deanna.. I'm not even mad. I'm in complete shock. I'm baffled to how someone who is supposed to be a professional would do this? I don't even know what to say. lol The only reason I didn't go with a make up counter person was bc I'm getting married out all the way out east and I didn't know if they would have someone travel that far. We're staying there the whole weekend, so I def. need someone to come to us. I'm going to try a couple other ones on here right now but if the woman you are using travels, I'm open to her info too.

I highly recommend Jacqueline Nicole...she came to my house out East (Hampton Bays) to do my wedding day makeup...she's realiable, professional, does an amazing job & is so sweet!! (pics in albums)

i totally dont blame you on how you feel.. that is just crazy!! im glad some of the girls are trying to get you someone... is there an ulta by you?? or where you are going to be?? im gonna ask if my girl travels..

Which is fine, but shouldn't you block out dates you know you're not going to be available before you book with someone??? She scr*wed me over big time. Thankfully Kacey from Khlouds TOTALLY came through for me!!!! Give her a shot if you haven't already!!

WOW!!! How is this lady a vendor on this site? I just got 4 FM emails and then read this post. I can't believe that she is still a vendor on here. She is obviously not reliable. It's bad enough that she cancelled a make up trial the day of -because she forgot and made plans with her friends BUT to cancel on a bride 24 days before her wedding??!!!!! That is obsurd! I can't believe she did that to you. I am so sorry! I'm glad everything worked out with Kacey. I tried contacting Kacey from a number someone gave me on here but the number wasn't working. Can you please provide me her info? I also called Ann Demarko and Jill Harth- waiting to hear back from them!

Hi, I'm going to be at the East Wind in Wading River. We're staying there the whole weekend, so I would need someone that is out there or willing to travel. But I'm open to trying anyone at this point. I just want a natural look -open to airbrushing. Someone that will not make me look like a clown and will just even out my skin and make my eyes like nice! Ahhh I'm starting to panic. Everyone seems to be booked already!

I met one of the artist at a photoshoot, she was awesome! Then my sister hired her for her birthday party.
