For my cousin's bridal shower, everyone wrapped their gifts in clear plastic. She did not have the assembly line to open gifts. We just had a party and all the gifts sat out. She made it a point to go to each person and thank them.
What is your opinion on doing this? I liked it but feel that some people get insulted when you don't open all the gifts and hold everything up.

I have been told that people do get insulted...but ultimately it should be what you would like to do

this is my little old italian lady opinion
i feel the purpose of a shower is to SHOWER the bride with gifts and that people, especially the older women, really enjoy seeing the bride open up what they got for her.
I mean, I wouldn't mind if I was invited to a shower that was like this. But for MY shower, the purpose of it IS to open up gifts . . . otherwise what is the point? I mean after the engagement party, bachelorette party, wedding reception etc. the gifts set the shower apart from these other activities

I like opening presents!!! I want mine wrapped!!! I actually enjoy putting together gifts when I get invited to showers....I love making baskets and having themes to my gifts....

see i loved this idea.. im not one fore having the 'spot light' so sitting there in front of 50 people opening presents = xanex (spelling) so i personally LOOOOOOOVE the idea.. and it gives me time to mingle.. but.. my mother.. HATES the idea. and well i dont mind making her happy for one day. shes really not saying much about the wedding so ill give it to her... she also feels the way tilde does.. i get the point i just dont care for it.. but im ok with it in the long run.
