Writing our own vows?? YIKES!!

so last night FH and i sat down to go over ceremony stuff. and we get to the vows part and he's like 'i want to write my own'

Oh MY!!! i'm already going to be a mess up there..how am i going to get through reading vows? this is gonna be interesting

Fh wanted to write them too, but i am not into that. I will never get through it. I felt bad when i said i didnt want to do it.

We are considering it but I think we are both really nervous about it so we will see if we go through with it.

Wow good luck to you! I don' tknow if i could write my own vows. I strugged to even come up with a Maid of Honor speech for my sister's upcoming wedding!

FH is insisting that we write our own. I'm not exactly a good writer or creative thinker.

We already wrote our own vows. It was hard to start but once you get going it just flows. To the person who said that she would just take them off the internet, sorry, but I think you're just cheating yourself and him. Vows are supposed to be personal things...not something you just steal from someone else. I think its horrible to take someone vows and replace the name 'jon' everytime its said with your fhs name. From someone who already wrote them, it seems hard but its completely worth it once youre done. JMHO

Good luck! I don't think I'm brave enough to do it, I cry over EVERYTHING and I know I will be a huge mess at the ceremony anyway.

we are going to write vows but instead of reading them out loud at the ceremony, we will give them to each other the night before as a letter to read on the day of or perhaps maybe during our reveal. I really like the traditional vows and always imagined me saying them.

lol, of course you could 'steal' it! i just googled traditional wedding vows and I read a passage and it almost made me cry! why does my wedding have to be 672 days away???!!!

We are doing it.
I cried at my friends wedding so hard when her and her husband read them. He cried and stoped in the middle and said 'Sorry, I just can't belive im marrying the girl of my dreams right now' I lost it! I don't know how we will read our own when I couldn't even stop crying at somebody elses.

Vanessa- I LOVE your idea, its really cute!! I agree with you too- I've always pictured myself saying the traditional vows.
