Wrong board...but need hugs...my turtle died!!!

My turtle, Poopie, died yesterday. He had been acting a little strange over the last week, but I attributed it to the change of weather and new season. When I awoke around 2 am yesterday....he was extremely lethargic and not responding very well. I gave him some baby food and water with a syringe, and hoped for the best until I could get him to the vet. Took him to the vet around 10 and the vet said that he must have been sick with something (cancer or another disease) and he just took a turn for the worse in the last week. We were going to euthanize him, but just as we made the decision, he popped his little head our and started moving again.....so, we took him home and tried to nurse him with baby food and all of his favorite treats....but at 11pm last night, he took his last breath and died.

I know it may sound silly to some....who cries over a turtle?? But, we've had poopie for 4 years and before that, FH's brother had him for 10....so he's been in the family for a while. And he was SO SUPER intelligent. When I called his name, he'd come running over and he just LOVED to have his neck rubbed. I'm really going to miss him dearly.
