Wrong ceremony... SUrprise!?

Wrong ceremony... SUrprise!?

So my WONDERFUL FH knowing how we both have really wanted to do a small ceremony during our honeymoon in ANtigua of just us two has decided that it did not matter that I said we can NOT afford it .. he has just asked if I have a second dress cause Ill need it and then sent me our confirmation number.
I feel kinda ****** that I can't jump for joy and all that. I'm ridiculously concerned with our LACk of funds as it is and our needing to pay for a ceremony HERE first. I should be super excited though, right?

Are you going to sandals? I believe they don't charge for the ceremony on the grounds.

Yep, Sandals! They do now.. or well because we will have already been married and therefore it's considered a vow renewal. Also we want to get married at sunset which is part of it all and that's another $600 and it's not even that late.. 5pm. This was why I suggested NOT doing it at all but he wanted to surprise me. Yay? I know it will be beautiful though.

October, the day after our wedding. It looks like an amazing resort I can't wait.

I am going too in august

Don't stress you will get some gifts to make up some of the money and if what you really wanted was a small wedding this may mean more to you then anything and be the best money you ever spent! Take lots of pics we want to see!

Originally, he wanted to do this as our wedding as a whole but he's been married n did the big wedding and I've dreamed of the big wedding my whole life so this was a nice way to do both. Plus he seems REALLY happy since telling me this so I'm not gonna complain. I am really looking forward to it. I just wish I wasn't stressing the finances of all of this ALL the time. I know it will totally be worth it though.
Vilardi82.. awww would be funny if we were there the same time. We aren't leaving til Sept. 1st though. JaimeLin.. SUPER Jealz!!!! I wanted October so bad lol ENJOY!! :)

That is sweet. That's stupid Sandals considers it a vow renewal even though you are newlyweds!

I would feel the same way. For Valentine's day, FH bought me an expensive necklace when we had agreed we could not afford to do gifts for anything during wedding year! It was hard to be excited. My advice to you is just know that it is booked and happening, so force yourself to be excited! It is going to happen whether you are excited or not lol. Maybe you could save money that you didnt expect to be coming in (tax returns? birthday cards? wedding gifts?)

This may be a stupid question, but how would Sandals know you're already married? If you're planning to get married while you're there, you'd be on your honeymoon anyway, no?

Well, we booked our honeymoon already.. as a 'honeymoon'. ANd in order to do that deal, you have to show proof of your marriage. It sort of evens out anyway on what we would get included but because half the reason we want to get married there is SUNSEt on the beach- it's extra on top of the fee :/

Ah, ok. I was hoping you could outsmart them

Yeah that's what FH said.. how would they know.. but in order to do the Honeymoon we have to bring them our license or invitation.

Enjoy now - worry about the bills later. You only will get to experience all of this once (typically and hopefully) Im sure you both have good jobs and gift money

Have fun and congrats!!
