Hey ladies ... So I joined WW yesterday (officially weighed in today) and am totally and completely lost. Do I have to use all my points for the day? What if I dont? Can someone explain it to me? I have such a migraine I cant even read through the materials and want to make sure I am doing this right!
THANKS MUCH!

Re: WW Help!!
Definitely take time to read through everything (if you haven't sat through a meeting yet, you should do that just to get all the info and if you have any questions they can answer for you).
on the new plan you get 29 points per day. Yes, you should be eating all your points for the day.
In addition to these points, you are also given an extra 49 weekly points to be used when you need them. That being said, you shouldn't look to use all these points in a week. It's probably best (if you are looking for faster results) to use a little as possible of these points. Most people save these points for like a weekend when you are going out to dinner or have a special event to go to. That way, you are still staying within your points for the week and you won't feel like you fell off the wagon. These points will reset at the beginning of the next week.
Also, no points rollover. So if you only ate 27 points one day, that doesn't mean you can eat 31 the next day.

Very well said!!!
Also, just to add, you can earn activity points from exercise to use in addition to your weekly points. I used to use all my weeklies before the new plan this week. i'm finding that this week I don't even need them anymore with the jump in points I got (even with the reworked points system).

Re: WW Help!!
I heard that the point calculation is no longer based on calories, fat and fiber....and they somehow worked in protein, any truth to this? I havent been a member in like a year+

How do you know she gets a daily points plus target of 29? It all depends on height, age, weight and gender. She may get more than 29 DPT.

This is not true at all. Actually WW ENCOURAGES you to use your Weekly Points Plus Allowance. This is what stops you from feeling deprived. Studies have shown that people who get to maintenance and lifetime typically use all of their Weekly Points Plus Allowance.

100% true. Points Plus are now based off of protein, carbs, fat and fiber.

Re: WW Help!!
The points can be very confusing- I try to plan out my day to help me.
While you should all your points (and WW encourages you to), I never have and lost weight quicker. And I've kept it off for 3 years. I still let myself induldge but I dont use every point, every day. It worked for that way, but may not work for you.

Re: WW Help!!
You should use them all because you need the right amount of calories/nutrients etc.

Re: WW Help!!
I'm a member of the At Work program which is the only way I can make the meetings because they're held during my lunch hour. I'm just as confused as everyone else..I logged onto eTools this morning and it says i get 34 points each day. I have no idea how I will be calculating points now because I hate reading labels and usually went by the foods listed in the Food Companion and the Common Food calculators.....ugh..

I am seriously a fan of these Fresh Made meals they have available in Stop and Shop. Not sure if they are available in other stores as well but I have only seen them in S&S. The are located in the deli section and they are basically just fresh meals as opposed to their frozen Smart Ones.
I've tried the 3 Cheese Mac and Cheese which was really good and today I am having the Meatlof with Garlic Mashed Potatoes which is soooo good! and the points are not bad at all (meatloaf is 8 on the new plan). If you do get them, or any Weight Watchers product, make sure you re-worked the points. Don't go by what's on the box because that's for the old way of calculating.
Some other favs of mine from Weight Watchers:
Chocolate Chip Cookies Smart Ones Pasta Primavera Chocolate Cakes

Re: WW Help!!
I've never done ww but what I don't understand is how to figure out how many point a meal is whether its a wrap from the deli or a homecooked meal how do you find out?

Re: WW Help!!
Since you do not have the nutrition information you would use the list of foods to figure it out. For example if it is turkey you would look at the list of foods for turkey and use that number.
