Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

omlettes are the best - especially if you make them with egg whites. They are very filling and easy to make.

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

oh I love this thread!!!! I am always so tempted to ask people what they are eating for lunch because I can't think of anything, but then I realize how annoying I am!

Since I haven't been dieting too well, I can't say what I eat because its terrible

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

I have to feel like I am eating a lot of food...so I eat a lot of low point foods throughout the day and leave the chunk of my points for when I get home (which is when i end up eating the most and last semester during classes would mess up when i got home).

so...IDEAS...

Breakfast:

one cups cheerios (2 pts) with 1/2 cup non-fat milk (1 pt) = 3 pts
or
cereal and milk bar (3 pts)
or
serving of honey wheat pretzels (2 pts)
or
boiled egg (2 pts) w/ one slice light bread (0.5 pts) =2.5 pts
or
1/2 cup oatmean (1 pt) w/ 1/2 cup applesauce and a half packet of splenda (0 pts)

Lunch:

Salad made of lettuce (0 pts), cucumber (0pts), 2 black california olives (0.5 pts), 1/2 cup grapes (0.5 pts), celery (o points) and half cup grilled chicked breast....cant remember how many points now....
or
sandwich made of 2 slices of light bread (1 pt), one slice of vegetable cheese (they are called vegie slices) (1 pt), 2 slices roasted eggplant which have a dab of olive oil so i round it to (1pt) and some arugula (o pts) = 3 points
or
a thomas honey wheat bagel (5 points) and a slice of veggie cheese (1 pt) and then some mixed greens salad on teh side.

Snacks:

Columbo light yogurt (3 pts)
or
Snyder sourdough nibblers pretzels (2 pts)
or
Health valley granola bar (2 pt)
or
Pria Bar (3 pts)
or
small box of raisins ( 2pts)
or
Edys whole fruit ice bar (2 pts)

Dinner:

a weight watchers dinner
or
serving of chicken with steamed broccoli and sqaush with a little lemon
or
fish fillet (5-7 points depending on teh fish) with dandelion greens
or
turkey burger (forgot the points I think between 5-7) with tomato cucumber salad (1 pts)

WHen i calculate my points..I always round up when i am not sure...so that way...if i do mess up at the end of the day...i havent really messed up...unless I am bad and eat too many doritos :(

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

Yeah doritos are my weakness too. I go for a bag when I am really upset....or really stressed....but...I really try to stop myself...now with the wedding...and I also bought myself an awesome bikini...which I am determined to fit into!

They now have baked doritos too now!! Which i believe three points for a serving so not too bad....just must remember to eat a serving. I tend to overeat when it comes to portions size....so when i buy pretzels and other snacks that I need to measure into a portion...I do it right away after I buy them. I sit down and count my pretzels and place them in sandwich bags so when I have to go to work...I just grab individual packets and am off to work!

Also, bec i need to feel like I am eating a lot of food..I tend to stay away from 3 point snacks bec they add up very quickly. If I do have a 3 point snack, then I try to get some 1 point snacks so I would feel 'happy' with the chance.

1 pt snacks= most medium size fruits or a cup of fruit. Its great to have seedless grapes already prewashed and packaged in a sandwich bag.

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

Attica -

Great tips! You mentioned three very important points.

1 - Eat a lot of low point foods throughout the day and leaving the chunk of points for when you get home. I like doing this that way FH and I can eat a similiar meal. I hate watching him chow down while I'm nibbling on lettuce.

2 - Rounding up points to leave some room for error. If I'm not sure I always round up. Also remember that if you double a portion you cannot always double the points. It may be one additional.

3 - Prepackaging snacks. This is a great idea. I do this as soon as I get home from shopping. If it is already packaged I write the points on the container with a Sharpie marker that way I can just grab and go. FH laughs at me.

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

Another yummy snack for only 4 points!!

1/2 cup low fat yogurt=2pts
one shredded wheat biscuit=1 pt
one cup of any type of fruit= 1 pt

what I do is put the yogurt in a bowl, crumble up the wheat biscuit and then chop the fruit over it (I have used orange, peach, pear and melon so far).

I then leave this in the fridge for a few hours so that the liquid of the yogurt is absorbed by the biscuit and the fruit juices of teh fruit does the same. It tastes really yummy afterwards.

What I usually do is prepare it in the morning and then have it as an after dinner snack.

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

I just read the idea of putting the snacks into little sandwich bags, that is a great plan!!! Why didn't I think of that????
I definitly plan on doing that when I come home because I do the same thing, I overeat on my points...its just too easy to do.

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

Just thought I would throw in that the Columbo light yogurt is 2 points, not three. I forget now who posted that, but whoever it was, not you get a bonus point. I love it when that happens

Re: WW Ladies...Feel Like Sharing?

I definitly will be buying honey wheat pretzels for a snack soon....

Thought I would share the latest menus I've been following:

Roast Beef Sandwich From the Deli
7 POINTS

2 slice high-fiber bread 2
2 tsp mayonnaise 2
2 oz deli-style roast beef 2
1/4 cup lettuce, shredded 0

Cereal bar for a snack. And instead of high fiber bread, on toasted pita bread--it's my new obsession.

Yesterday was roasted turkey on toasted pita, lettuce tomato and avocado. Very filling and satisfying. I feel a lot better about using a little avocado than cheese--seems healthier.

Hope this helps someone!
