WWYD????

OK here goes...for those that don't remember - my ATV was stolen in PA in June. They found my ATV and arrested the thieves. Sentencing of the first idiot is this Thursday. I'm going up solo and leaving at 5 a.m. on Thursday and staying overnight. I have already submitted a written Victim Impact Statement. I do have the right to speak in Court. I spoke with the DA's office and they said sometimes it makes a difference and sometimes it doesn't. Here are my concerns:

1. That I'm going to get so mad I'll say something I shouldnt.

2. Hate public speaking.

3. What if they let the guy out the same day and I'm up in PA by myself?

What would you do?

I would first make sure someone came with me. Can anyone take off and go with you? I understand about public speaking I am the same way. Do you really feel strongly about saying something in court? If so I would have something in front of me written out. This way you wont say something you shouldn't plus it would just be like reading out loud, like when you were in school. And have a bottle of water in front of you in case you mouth is dry.

I spoke with the Chief of Police last night. He said it wouldn't make a difference in the sentencing whether or not I spoke. How's that for justice????

Yeah thats pretty lame but doesn't it at least make you feel better about staying over by yourself?

don't speak ... it's not worth all the anxiety. the idiot will get what's coming to him regardless.

honestly i hate to be a chicken shyt but with the circumstances as they are...you not even being in your own area, your dh unable to make it for the whole time...i would just say not to speak, imho. good luck!
