WWYD - Neighbors Related?? UPDATE

Got home from the craft store and my neighbors (have posted about them before being insanely loud and obnoxious) - well they both greeted me by my front door and proceeded to curse me out and scream and yell about my newspaper being by their front door - and when I yelled back they came out the front door at me.. FH is at work until really late tonight.. I dont feel safe leaving here... WWYD? I am waiting for FH to call me back... hes in the middle of a meeting...... oh and BTW - the rental office is closed already for the evening........

UPDATE: While the cops were en route here I called the guard booth to tell them the cops were on their way and to let them in - well when I called the guard booth they told me 'oh no we told them there was no problem and we wouldn't let them in - they left already' - I hung up and called 911 again and they sent the cop back (who is the guard booth to say when and if the cops can come in?!!?) - and the cop got here (FH left work to come home to check on me) - the cop made a report and was like 'what are your neighbors talking about - im 240 and the wind would knock me down out there' - so he took all of the information and made a disturbance report - spoke to the people down stairs and told them that they cannot speak to me that way, they will need to check their tone before speaking to another person that way - and he told me to just make sure we 'pick up the newspaper' - i looked at him and we both kind of rolled our eyes (had told the cop my dad is retired nassau county detective - I think that made him see the legitimate-ness (if thats a word) to my complaint ... but neither here nor there - we shall see what tomorrow brings...

Did they threaten you at all? If they did I would call the cops.

They are angry because your paper was infront of their door? Are these people stupid?

I'm sorry. I wouldn't let those losers stop me from doing anything. Go about your day as your normally would and don't let anyone scare you into staying in your house.

hey worst case scenario... if they attack you then you file a complaint and you can press charges. Hey maybe even sue them and get some wedding money!

Is there an answering service for the rental office? Definitely leave a message at the service and then keep a written journal of the incidents. If you feel threatened in any way, call the police.

Also did your rental office/landlord give you a phone number to call in case of emergencies? Call them...definitely an emergency if you feel unsafe in your own home.

If you dont have that number yet, make sure you get it

I did it about 3 weeks ago when FH was working an overnight tour and my neighbors were being incredibly rude and yelling and screaming.

I called the cops just to have it on record. JMO

I want to - but I am so afraid with us getting married soon and going away for our HM they will do something stupid to us...

I would go buy 25 newspapers and leave it by their door...

but seriously they are crazy.. avoid them.. lock your doors and don't make eye contact!!!! If they threatened you I would def. call the police..I have some crazy upstairs neighbors too.. We have a silent war going on but everytime I run into the woman she is so fake nice to me its ridiculous and will follow me around. I avoid them at all costs.

i would call..they might just be doing this becuase they know they r gettign away with it..and of course cause they r nuts...but if the cops come that might make them settle down...im sorry u have to deal with this

If that's your concern, definitely call the cops. Before you go on your HM tell them you're going out of town and ask for extra patrol. Also, advise your rental office (in writing) that you will be away and to keep an eye on things- make sure they have an emergency number to contact a family member in case something does happen.

Horrible neighbors can ruin everything...........

OMG your neighbors seem to have more than a few loose screws. Good for you for calling the cops , we had something similar happen to us about 2 months ago, we called the cops and ever since that night we have detectives patrolling our block bc they think something illegal/suspicious is going on.
