Macy's is having great sales this weekend, there is a friends and family discount coupon floating around (FM me if you need it) for 20% off almost everything.

Are these friends people that you usually do a Christmas gift exchange with? If so, then I would suggest keeping the Christmas and engagement gifts separate...JMO...but, I don't think it's nice to do a 'combo' if you would normally buy them a Christmas gift anyway. It's sort of like lumping someone's bday gift in with Christmas, just b/c their bday falls around the same time of year. JMO.

I love these! I got them for my shower and was secretly hoping someone would by them. Here is the story:

According to an old German tradition, a couple's Christmas tree should include these 12 ornaments to ensure happiness: Heart (symbolizing true love), Bird (joy), Pine Cone (fruitfulness), Santa (goodwill), Fish (Christ's blessing), House (protection), Rabbit (hope), Angel (God's guidance), Flower Basket (good wishes), Teapot (hospitality), Rose (affection), and Fruit Basket (generosity). Each is mouth-blown in northern Bavaria and fitted with the Star Cap, signature of Inge Glass, a family workshop of glass blowers now in its 15th generation. Created in antique molds, our ornaments might have graced your grandmother's Christmas tree.

Doreen - I got that gift at my shower, too! In fact, I just got one for my cousin, who is getting married on Valentine's Day....

Lillian Vernon also sells a set that is a bit easier on the wallet than Marshall Fields.

www.TerrysVillage.com also has something like that (in resin, not glass) that was very inexpensive.

have they registered? I would stick to that if they have...

as for combining...I was born on 12/28 and it doesn't bother me really when I get a combo gift...as long as it is EXTRA nice
