X post: 2nd Guessing Your Dress Once You've Ordered It

I ended up ordering my gown very early. It came in already yesterday, and I previewed it- even though my wedding isn't til February.

I liked the look much better when she clipped the the one that was 6 sizes too big back in the Fall... my FMIL and FSIL said it looked beautiful and that I was being silly/etc...it was pretty..but it didn't flatter me as much as I remembered, and it looked boring- just like the dresses of recent friends who got married (not that theirs were boring..they just all had the same look)...I also don't think FH is going to like it cause he didn't like theirs...and I'm just really not so sure about it. However, I already put down 50% and they ordered it...so it's mine.

Did any of you guys order your gowns and then change them or know anyone who did??

Im so afraid of going dress shopping for this reason. Can you use that deposit to order another dress in the same place? My place said i could.

I already have mine also and when its clipped it looks different. I know it will look the same after it is all altered and taken in.. Do you have a pic of your dress? Im sure its gorgeous!!

Do they still need to do alterations to the dress? If they do then I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure it will look gorgeous!

I bought my gown at DB on a whim. Tried it on, it fit and my mom loved it, so I caved in.

Yea I had reservations but it was too late to return the dress. So what I am doing is having a SECOND gown for the reception. I absolutely love the 2nd dress which I had custom made, and I can't wait to change into it once the reception starts!
