x post again- Chateau Briand brides- CH ?

I asked my BM about adding an extra 30 minutes to my coctail hour because we refuse to see eachother prior. He kept just saying that he is sure it would be fine. It kind of got me annoyed because obviously I'm worried about it. Finally he gave me 3 options-

1- to see FH prior
(thanks for the idea SIR but I have told him 439204832 times that is not an option)
2- Take 30 minutes away from reception- not an option for us at all!!
3- Pay 3k for an extra 30 minutes.

Now I am starting to think I def. heard this wrong because I have heard soooooo many people either getting it thrown in for free or paying like 400 dollars for that!! Do any of you have that? I am very concerned and I am hoping I just heard him wrong b/c 3k for 30 min sounds crazy. Hell 1500 for 30 min. sounds crazy??

i don't have one, but i'm thinking it was a misunderstanding too ... maybe he didn't realize you would take 1/2 hour away from the reception in exchange for the extra CH time?

i would speak to him again and find out....

I wouldn't take time away from the reception-- that was HIS idea.

Definitely call him back and find out about making the reception only 3 1/2 hours, and the CH 1 1/2 hours ... if the amount of time is the same, they shouldn't charge you any extra!

I don't have this prob since we are getting married at church ... Who is your bm? Talk to tom the gm he is great. Usually if you get married there and ur ceremony is short they start ch right away so you get extra time.

oh, i misunderstood, sorry.

well, regardless, I still think $3k is a lot, but it def won't be free (they have to pay their employees for the extra time, pay for more booze, etc)
