Hi!

My moh got her bridal gown at Lotus Bridal. It is a great, smaller place, but everything is so nice and they were so sweet.

She had trouble with Kelly's Creations and has heard from friends they have had too. Dresses not coming in time.

We got our bm dresses for her wedding at Dori's and everything went smoothly!

we ordered my dress at Monica's Bridal... I had a great experience there. I've been working with Yelena.

I bought my gown from The White Gown on Jay Street. They are amazing there. FM if you have any questions.

Re: x-post: Dress shopping in brooklyn

I got my dress from Artemida Wedding Gallery. They are in Sheepshead Bay (not too far from Monica's Bridal). They are some of the NICEST ladies I have ever met. I went there initially looking for a pronovias dress. They beat the price of the flagship store by a lot, but then I decided to go with something else. They didn't have my dress, but ordered it for me anyway and beat the price of any other store! They are very nice, will work with you and your budget, offer suggestions and work to please you. If you love a dress and want to add something to it (belt, crystals, etc.) they will do that do. They also make custom veils. They also allow you to take pics :)

I went to Monicas bridal too, they have a great selection of dresses too.

Lotus was good, but didn't have what I was looking for and couldn't order it.

Isabella Bridal was nice at first, but then they were RUDE to me and bridal party.

FM if you need any information. Good Luck :)

My mom bought her gown at Lestan's like 30 years ago but it's still there and they still sell a lot of the big name designers.

Lotus is great. Highly recommended. Wendy could not be sweeter. Lots of personal attention.

I'd recommend going to Lestan to look around because they have HUGE stock, but do not buy from there. We got the BM dresses there for my sister's wedding last year and it was a nightmare. They promised they would be in the beginning of May for a July wedding. They came in two weeks before the wedding in July. I was calling every week to check and the only thing they said was 'call back again tomorrow.' The sales people are great but once they get your deposit they don't care about you.

This was just my experience anyway.

Valentina Bridal
Doris was good but the store burned down last year and i haven't seen the new store yet, last time i went they were working out of some rented empty store
Kellys is good selection wise but they are NOTORIOUS for taking way too long to get a dress in. if you do go there, tell them your wedding date is at least one month earlier!
my FMIL ordered her dress from there with my SIL and she got her dress in the week of the wedding! she STILL had to do alterations!
and FH's best man, when he got married his MIL had the same problem

Yay for dress shopping!!

I wore a strapless bra to try on dresses but that was about it. I'm definitely going to be wearing Spanx the day of the wedding but I decided to try dresses without any shapewear on.

The only advice I have is bring pictures of dresses you like and wear underwear you are comfortable in! (let me explain) Some shops, they let you slip the dress on yourself and then come in to zip you up. In other shops, the attendant will see you in all of your glory haha. I went with boy shorts on when I shopped lol
