Re: x-post from 2010 board: 4 RHs tomorrow!
I saw the millerridge cottage and the coral house.
the millerridge cottage had a really nice little circular room thingy (i say thingy because there must be a name for it... but idk)... i think it was used partly for the CH and then the venetian hour maybe. But it was really really nice. The bar area was a little small for our party. the bridal suite was really nice but it didnt fit our needs. i needed a rather large bridal suite because i want to have a lil pre party up there with the bp during the ch. so that wouldn't work for us. the room where the party is... was nice but the ceiling was kinda low... and fh is 6 ft 5... so it was a little strange. they had a nice fireplace and i loved how they sat the bride and groom right infront of it which was georgous. i also have a thing about not liking rugs in the places and they had one of the yucky rugs. so there were definately good aspects. overall it wasn't what i was looking for. oh and while we went to see the place... we came outside and there was a strange lady pushing a shopping cart (like one you would see in the supermarket!) in the parking lot! it was the strangest thing ever. my family has a thing for the restaurant.. and we have been coming here for years to eat.... i love the little village! always have! the place has great history. its nice that they have the cottage house seperate from the rest of the place!
the coral house was similiar in that there were definate positive aspects and there were some things we didn't like too much. the prices were very good (they were a little lower than millerridge cottage). the room for the reception was really really nice and it overlooked this lake that was just beautiful. we didn't like the cocktail hour space... it felt clausterphobic to me, idk.. maybe it's just me though. the whole place reminds me of being on a boat for some reason. i also remember there being soooo many chairs in the hallway. oh and the parking lot was across the street... i dont know if that would bother you.. i didnt mind.. but fh and moh were appauled about having all the guests cross the street. i also went to a wedding here a few years ago...it was very nice. no complaints. i dont remember too much.. but i remember loving the view out the pretty windows.
hth!
