A good friend of mine is going and has a few questions that I thought you girls might be able to help with. Has anyone gone to Barbados? ANd if you have...
1) How safe is it? 2) How expensive is the food? They're not staying at an all-inclusive 3) Are there any recommendations on what to do?

I love Barbados!
I felt completely safee - I have been to several Caribbean destinations and have never encountered such warm, friendly people.
There are a lot of fancy restaurants and the food is not as cheap as on some other islands, but if you do research you can eat reasonably.
There is tons to do - beaches and watersports, gardens and other sightseeing things, Mount Gay rum tour.

i was there for one day on a cruise so i can't really answer the safety or food price questions ...
but we went to Harrison's Cave and the Wildlife Reserve with Glory Tours (tour name is 'Touch of Splendor' link )
The cave was ok ... i mean it was really cool to see, but it was fairly short (about half hour inside the cave) ... the wildlife reserve was really fun ... i wish we had more time there ... we saw monkeys and turtles and deer and birds and a bunch of others (all walking in the same area as us, not caged).
the tour was great and totally worth the money.

LOVE Barbados. Beautiful beaches and great food (but not too cheap). The main town/city (can't remember the name of it) is nothing to write home about, but the beaches are great. Did lots of snorkeling and scuba diving. Also rented a car and drove to the east side of the island where ther is a lot of surfing (just to watch ) There's an area called St. Lawrence Gap that has a bunch of good restaurants and bars - that's pretty much where the nightlife is.

LOVED it too.....one of the best places i been too...and everyone is so nice ...i was on a cruise and thats one of the places they stopped ...good times! The beaches rock!

Went on a cruise and felt very safe.. Tiger Woods went here on his honeymoon.. took cabs everywhere and everyone is very friendly! i wouldn't worry.. im def going back for a week because it was beautiful.

FH and I Loved it there but we were only there for a day on a cruise. It felt very safe walking around, things seemed regularly priced for vacation, and the water was amazing! We went in February and it was soooooo warm and the sand was powdery. We also went snorkeling with sea turtles there. We found the excursion off the ship and the prices were great. We had a huge cattamaran and their were maybe 8-10 of us on it. Usually they pack 60 ppl onto one that size. I have nothing but great memories there!
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE BARBADOS. I lived there for a year and go back at least 2-3 times a year. My FH is from Barbados and has a house there. I think it is pretty safe, I have never felt unsafe there at any time. It is not really that expensive, but the eating there can be a little costly. I have done virtually every tourist activity available. Fm me if you want any more info.
