I want to take my FH out for a day or two trip. We've been in 'save money' mode for such a long time that I think its starting to get to us since we don't go out (not that we saved as much as we needed!! )
Does anyone have rec's on where to go for cheap? We're up for anything. Thanks!

not sure if you are planning on a weekend day or during the week-
the wineries out east are nice to visit, we like to visit the museums in the city (most have a ticket price but also accept just a donation)- up by woodbury commons outlets they always have event- you can tour west point, also NY waterways has these awesome one days- they'll take you down to the Jersey Shore for the day & a lot of others

Amish country is 3 hours away near lancaster PA. Montauck and the Hamptons are always nice. Def check out the Vineyards out east and upstate. Newport is about 2.5-3 hours away.

It all depends on what you like to do - wineries are great but you need a sober driver - if you like casinos - there are always bur trips to mohegan sun/foxwoods - you could go into NYC and get 1/2 price show admission from TKTS booth and hit the deli to get sandwiches & have lunch in central park. Take the train and bring a bottle of wine
