X-Post: Returning a Gown to David's Bridal *Update*
Has anyone ever done this? I'm second guessing my gown choice and thinking about going back to try on more gowns. I bought mine off the rack and it still is in the bag with all tags with the receipt. I know I can't get my money back, but, would they give me a credit so I could apply it towards another dress in the store? tia
*Update* I went to the store in Lake Grove tonight and they were SUPER nice. I explained my situation to the manager there and she said she would exchange the dress with no problem.

i think they would give you a credit towards another dress, but they definitely wont give you your money back.
why are you second guessing your gown choice? :(

While I love the style of my gown, it's VERY plain. There is nothing on it. And when I say nothing, I mean nothing. And after doing much thinking, I should have opted for a gown with some beadwork and a small train maybe.

hmm if they don't give you a credit.. that would be poor taste..i mean you intend to purchase something else and it is still unused in the bag and you bought it off the rack. I mean I guess they could be sticklers about it.
If they don't give you your money back, post it on here. I am still looking for mine

I'm wondering about this too. Do you think they give store credit so that if I wanted to get other merchandise like a MOB or MOG dress or different things for the wedding like guestbooks, etc. they would do that instead?

With David's Bridal... When you buy a gown, especially off the rack, you get 1 FREE exchange so they should do it for you... I would def call them and ask.... Tell them you know you get a free exchange and would like to try on some different dresses and exchange yours for another one.

Hmm. Yeah I just called and asked and the woman on the phone told me that all sales are final and the only way I would be able to get an exchange is to do a size exchange for the dress that I currently have. IDK but, IMO that's not good CS. My dress is in perfect condition with all tags. It's not like I'm asking for my money back. I guess I might have to go in there and start some trouble.

i would go there, ask to speak to a manager, and don't give up until they give you a store credit.

That's my intention. I'm not backing down on this one.

I would def go there and talk to a manager, does the receipt say 'all sales are final', if it doesn't then you have a shot -- go there and be firm and let them know you only want an exchange or store credit not a refund
Good Luck

I don't see why they wouldn't give you a credit if they're willing to exchange your dress for a different size. Also if you want a dress with some more detail it would most likely be more expensive, so they'd be making more money.
