Is anyone planning on taking a pill the morning of your wedding to help keep you calm?

I still haven't decided yet. I don't know if I'm going to rely on alcohol to relax me or not. The problem is that once I drink the alcohol, I can't take a xanax, and vice versa. So I feel like I need to choose one thing and stick with it. Maybe I'll do a few test runs to see which has the better effect.
I do have an anxiety disorder, and the thought of having a panic attack on my wedding day is just awful.

I took a Xanax right before my ceremony and I'm soooo happy I did because it took the edge off. I was so nervous and really freaking myself out about everything. I wouldn't take anything though unless you're used to taking it cause you never know how it may affect you until you've tried it before...and you don't want to find that out on your wedding day.

so you think a .25 mg ox xanax and a gass of red wine is going to make me loopy? are you not supposed to drink on them?

wel i took one today--this is the third time i have EVEr taken it b/c i stared to feel very anxious and my heart was racing. I feel better now.

no you are not supposed to drink on them. alcohol will intensify the effect. If you plan on taking a xanax and drinking the day of the wedding, I would recommend trying it first so that you are prepared for however it will effect your body.

I'm sure in most cases it is mind over matter but sometimes it's just too hard and there's no harm in taking something to help. (IMO)
I would say if you're okay taking .25 (which is barely anything) then there should be no harm in taking that the day of. Like I said earlier, it will just take the edge off. (especially a dosage that low) You should be just fine.

thank you so much for the advice. the doctor said you can take up to 4 a day if needed. i think i may just take one when i wake up and then another on the way to the church

I have FINALLY gotten off of it - it took me almost a month. When i went off it cold turkey i was throwing up like a lunatic...it was TERRIBLE and flu like!!!
xanax will not make you tired, etc...unless you take too much. It gives you like a 'chilled out' feeling....makes you relax...

I personally would not take anything if you're not currently taking this type of medicaiton. who knows how your body will react? who wants side effects on their wedding day?
on my wedding, i was SOOOO calm and happy--- not nervous AT ALL! people on these boards build up the wedding day to be soem crazy surreal experience. i tihnk for most people, it is a happy exciting day with no need for alcohol or drugs to calm you down.

.5mg...i took 1 before the photographers got there....since i have an issue about having my pic taken (a self esteem thing)...
and i took another 10 minutes before walking down the aisle...(i'm not good with attention)...

I got a prescription for Klonopin (it is like xanax). I was having severe wedding anxiety and nightmares. Also, when I get nervous or excited, I get RED!
I take it on occasion but have every intention of taking it the night before my wedding (so I sleep) and the day of. It gently takes the edge off.
I probably won't drink too much, if at all, so for me the interaction is not an issue.

I have had anxiety for some time now and xanax is my crutch for only those really rough times, but i've had some thoughts as well if i would take a 1/2 for that day or the night before to take the edge off....i know my body and tolerance to it well so there is a good chance i will so that I don't freak! Just speak to your doctor about it too. I have a friend who is PA and told me about a beta blocker that helps with social anxiety or the 'jitters'.

xanax comes in up to a 2mg tab...which means at .25 you are taking a very low does....drinking is absolutely not reccomended with it...it can intesnify the chill it gives it can also intensiy instead of help the anxiety....If you take the xanax er it can be up to 3mg ...... I take xanax often but did not need it day of.....
