Are you living with your Fi's mother?

I am so sad for you, I don't wat to suggest that you end anything...but things need to change with her behavior.

Everything in a relationship is a compromise... I think you need to move out and get your own place. Yes, renting is a drag- but at what price are you saving money? It's ruining your relationship and causing misery for every party involved.

You have to have a non-emotional heart-to-heart and get the heck out of there.

You definitely need to sit down with your FI and sort hings out, for your own sanity.

Also, I would sit down together with your FMIL and your FI and talk everything out. He has to be on your side.

I would not say to end the relationship but maybee you need to move home until you can buy something. Living with inlaws can ruin a relationship. It can seriously end a marriage I have seen it do this. Maybee you need to move home until you can get your own place.

You and FH need to have a long talk about her. Saving a little money is going to cost him his future wife, and if he is still defending his mothers psycho ways, than he needs a reality check. Maybe he doesnt really want to cut the cord if you know what I mean? Find out what his deal is, and than make your decision. Im so sorry you are going through this..

if you can't get alone with her, then the saving of money is not worth it!

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing. I wouldn't walk away, but maybe you need to remove yourself from the situation. Just because you and your FH are compatible doesn't mean you and his mother are. Maybe until you get married you might want to consider moving back home. If this is not an option I strongly suggest you all sit down together and have a nice long talk (maybe invite a mediator- someone who can keep a neutral stance.) Good Luck and keep us posted.

I would talk to FI and say is all the money we are saving by not getting an apartment worth this torture???? I dont think so and if he does not agree then maybe you could live somepleace else in the mean time because I would not stay in her house. She sounds like she is very jealous and minipulating and it is already causing problems.

How long have you been house hunting? We have been looking for 6 months.... itis not a quick process. Not to mention going to contract and closing. You could be be looking at a minimum of 6 more months before you are out.

Talk to you FI calmly and tell him how you feel.

I hope it all works out

i'm really sorry you have to go through this i think you and your fh should get your own place or you should move back home. it's not worth saving money living with his mother if it's going to ruin your relationship.

i think if you discuss how serious it is, he then would probably be willing to move out....

she took your things? you should get them back, then put a lock on your room....

All I can say is hang in there. This is only temporary until you guys find a house. You can't change her. It sounds like she is set in her ways. Bite your tongue until you get your own place to live.

First of all, your FMIL should not be yelling at you. If she doesn't like something that you've done, then she should be mindful when speaking to you.

If you and your FH plan on living with his mother, until your circumstances change, then it is a good idea that he has a heart-to-heart talk with her, then all three of you need to have a talk.

Your FMIL could very well be harboring some ill-feelings that you and your FH aren't aware of. Try and get some things out in the open, especially if you plan on getting married.

Good luck

Generally, I think renting is a waste of money. In your case, I think renting is the only way to get thru. I am sorry you are having problems.

Edited to say: We are staying with her for now because we're house hunting and fi refuses to rent anything because 'renting is just a waste of money'

Yet living with a woman that:
1. hid your e-ring on top of peas and then proceeded to insist she checked the food and it wasn't there,
2. hids YOUR stuff in HER room (by that way, that's called STEALING)
3. is a pig and if you FI hasn't noticed it yet he's in denial

Your FI thinks that is better?

I think maybe you should move out and get your own apt until you and FI find a house, for your own piece of mind!

You mentioned FI's cousin or best friend were at hte house the other night. Do they know your FMIL is nuts/jealous? Can they talk to him and say 'you know your fiance has every right to be upset?'

Granted it's his mother but please. She sounds like she's doing all this to drive you out of his life. Instead, move out. Why put up with the stress? If he won't budge then get your own apt until the wedding. (if you can afford it..otherwise..i dunno....can you move into a friend's house until the wedding or you find a house?)

It tough when you don't get along with his family but don't let it affect your relationship with your FH. Tell your FH how you feel...maybe he can talk to his mom. He should be supporting your feelings and not defending his mother so much. He might be feeling a little torn on who to side with. Hang in there

she does have a few loose bolts. if you HAVE to stay there, stay in your room and stay the hell away from her. I'll pray you find a house fast........or beg for mercy and ask him to please have you guys rent a small space somewhere else.
