It won't be so bad. I got used to it. I'll never forget coming home all excited on my first day of third grade because there was only 1 other Jennifer in my class that year!!

Babynames.com has Ethan as #4 for 2003
1 AIDAN / AIDEN / ADEN
2 JADEN / JAYDEN
3 CADEN / KADEN
4 ETHAN
5 CALEB
6 DYLAN
7 JACOB
8 JORDAN
9 LOGAN
10 HAYDEN
Ethan was the first choice for my nephew but they changed it at the last minute to Ryan.

my maidan name begins with Emm...I always thought it would be a good middle name for a daughter...Emma...but now I'm not sure...

It's amazing how names can be contagious, isn't it? People hear a name and then fixate on it until before you know it, half the country has named their newborn child that name!

I can tell you that Aidan is def the most popular right now. I named my son Aidan thinking it would be different -- and I must meet one Aidan avery day . He will be in pre school with like ten Aidans!!! My Dr even said -- 'What did you Moms all read the same name book -- I have a ton of Aidans this year ! ' Oh well --

Ethan is becoming popular. We have a couple in our Day Care.

I can't believe there was no Michael, James, Christopher or Joseph. They are usually always up there

I wish babies were born with name tags. I swear my son is going to go home as 'baby boy.'

What to do? Do you pick a name you love regardless of how many other kids will have that name or do you try to balance the popularity factor in there? My DH's partner at work told him that his son has 8 kids named Ryan in his class. That is awful!

Oh no.... I was considering Aidan because I love it and I too thought it was different. I don't know any Aidan's aside from 1 adult!

I'm the opposite. NO one has my name and I was always the odd one out. As a child, that can be difficult, so my mom nicknamed me a more popular name, but as an adult, I love and appreciate the uniqueness in my name.

As a Jennifer, the trendy name of the seventies, I plan to be extra cautious about this issue when we face it. There aren't a lot of trendy names I'm crazy about anyway except Isabella but it sounds corny with my last name. I'd prefer something a little more 'timeless' than most popular names, if that makes sense....

About 3 years ago another kindergarten teacher in my school had 4 Taylors in her class... 3 girls and a boy. Life was hard for that little boy that year.

JennP ~ I think Isabella sounds very classy with your last name!

Cira ~ I lOVE your name. In fact, my friend's dad just passed away, and his name was Ambrosio, but was called Ciro (can't figure that one out, but anyway... ). I told her if she ever has a little girl she has to name her Cira after her dad, and she LOVED it!!
