Im surprised a check cashing place actually cashed the check. Most of them will not except personal checks at all. You should request a copy of the front and back of the check. Every bank has a different fee but its worth it to find the truth.
As for your 'friend', I definitly would drop her from your wedding. She obviously has no class. You don't need her. Good Luck with everything!

id say just wait to confirm that it was her who cashed both.. then drop her..

it would be bad if someone else did it, and you lost a friend over it..

Wait to confirm that she cashed both and if she did, don't feel bad about getting rid of her.

That is so horrible that your BM did that. I hope she gets caught and you kick her to the curb!

I do the same thing, except I even go a step further, I throw different parts of the check in one garbage and some in another.

LOL
actually yes I do that too. Half of my torn checks are never in my house. I take them with me on errands so I can dump them. Always the same half either. So the full account number is never in the same can.

Same goes for bills or anything with our account info, ss#, name, address or other personal info. I use my scissors to shred that area of the pages (some have it on more than one and in more than one area.) and then shred them by hand and half and half dump.

Gives a whole new meaning to 'cleaning up the bills'. I usually sit on the bed and 'take care of the bills' on Sunday while watching TV. Maybe I'll do it during the week to vent frustration.

.....

As far as this BM is concerned. I'd be willing to wait to see if it was her who cashed it. Still I'd have to ask 'How else did this check leave the house?'
