Re: bridesmaid stole from my parents

If someone, anyone, stole from my mother you could bet they wouldnt be coming to my wedding. That BM has some set on her. Gosh this has made ME mad for you. Definately confront her. Good Luck. Go to your bank and see who deposited the check then confront her on it...

Do you really want a theif attending your wedding at all? If someone stole from my mother I would barly want her on the same block that I am having my wedding, let alone invited to it. SHe betrayed too many things, one major thing is trust.......JMO

I wouldn't worry about her not coming to the wedding at all, I wouldn't want her there. If any of my friends ever stole from my parents or anyone in my family, that would be the last they ever heard from me. Definitely check with the bank to see who signed it and cashed it and match the signatures on both checks. She is denying she cashed it??? OMG, I would be sooo PO'D!!! I am soo sorry!!! But honestly, if she did that she is not a friend anyway and you don't need her at your wedding.

I am soo sorry that you have to go through this I would definetly kick her out of the bridal party and not invite her to the wedding. I also agree to go to the bank and see who deposited it. Maybe there is an explanation. Good Luck

Yes she is denying it, and both checks were made out to her, and cashed a day apart from each other. As much as I want to believe maybe it was a mistake, it's to coincidental ya know?

So sorry this happened to you. This girl would be out of my wedding too.

This is why you're supposed to destroy bad checks. Jim laughs at me because I 'void' the hell out of checks. I write void in the date, signature, box, pay to, amount and memo lines. I draw a straight line through the microwriting of my signature line and scratch out my acct number. Then I tear it up and toss it. I am so freaked out about stolen checks or old checks reused. NEVER give out a check if it's bad. Shame this girl took it home, I'd have had it destroyed before I wrote the new one. So very sad that this person took advantage of your mother.

NO MISTAKE!!! THat is ridiculous.. She would not be coming near my wedding, or near me at all.. was it the same bank they were cashed at? that's a little more then a mistake.. I would have your mom call the cops!!!!

As everyone else said - the last thing I would worry about is her coming to your wedding - she is no friend to you. As someone else suggested, I would go to the bank to see who cashed the checks and find out about what legal action you can take.

I do the same thing, except I even go a step further, I throw different parts of the check in one garbage and some in another.

Were both checks deposited or cashed?? And were they cashed at the same bank?? I would definitely have your mom call the bank tomorrow. Of course she is going to deny it... but like you said it is too coincidental and she is going to deny it because she is in BIG trouble if she did that!!

Check the signatures on the back of the check. First of all, no bank is going to cash a check with no i.d.

I would just tell her - I WOULDNT ALLOW ANYONE TO STEAL FROM ME OR MY FAMILY...

There actually MORE STRICT at check cashing places.. so they had to of asked the person for Idea.. i went to a cash checking place here once, and they took my fingerprint, and my picture.. !!!!!!!!!!

Re: bridesmaid stole from my parents

Yeah, thats right, they are strict at those cashing places. If you are not a member they copy you drivers license number down on the check. If you are a member they copy your member number. So if she did take it she really is screwed!!

I honestly wouldn't be the least bit concerned about them even coming to your wedding. IMO anyone who would steal from your parents isn't a friend at all and isn't worthy of sharing in such a special day in any way shape or form.

Folks have already provided good advice, so I just wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened, and good luck!

Re: bridesmaid stole from my parents

You can proove it by seeing who signed on the back and from what bank they came from.
That is so LOW, and she should be ashamed. I would SO KICK HER OUT!!!!

Re: bridesmaid stole from my parents

As soon as you have proof of who cashed the two checks, and if it was her, then I would confront this girl and ask her what is going on. Tell her she needs to replace the money. Perhaps it was a mistake? If not then you dont want her at your wedding anyway! let us know what happened!
