Re: Need opinion..BM wrap

An organza wrap may be ok, but if you haven't ordered the dresses find out if they can make wraps for you. They may charge an additional $20-50.

The length of the wrap depends on the height of the girls, just measure from mid-thigh, around shoulder to other mid-thigh.

Re: Need opinion..BM wrap

Yeah that seems pretty high. I would go with the organza then.

FYI.... i think the color choices you mentioned were good.

Re: Need opinion..BM wrap

try cashmerecompany.com or shawlsetc.com for cute pashminas. they are inexpensive and come in a ton of colors. I did this for my bridesmaids. they are wearing a deep red color dress and i bought them a cream pashmina to match their flowers. and they can use the color again...

Re: Need opinion..BM wrap

Who is the designer? My daughter's girls are wearing Lazaro gowns, and that company wanted either $60 or $80 per shawl (so steep I can't even remember.) We asked the shop and they will get us exactly the same fabric by the yard. We are ordering 4 yards at $32 per yard, and for $128 I will make 8 shawls. Because taffeta is rather stiff, we figured 13 inch width is plenty and I am making each 2 yards long. All I will need to do is cut the fabric and sew 4 thin hems on each one. Easy if you have a machine and aren't afraid to tackle it.

my mom did the same for a friend of mine. the wraps my mom made came out to $15-$20 a pop vs. $60-80 and they came out just as nice if not nicer!

Lazaro is the designer. I only need 3, but really don't want to spend more than $20 for something they won't wear after church, or in any pictures. My MOH mights, so I do want hers to be nice. HHMMMMMM, maybe I will ask if they can order her material.

That's a great suggestion!!!!

if they can't order the material for you, hit the Manhattan garment district and i bet you can find something comparable...

you also don’t need to buy the same exact material, you can get something funky that perhaps they will wear again!

I live on LI and don't get to city too often. (boy the one time I miss working in manhattan, would have finally have been handy)

Funky....you mean like a colorful print wrap or scarf? (Pashmina was mentioned, while nice, I think it too heavy for summer wedding.)

totally, you can find sooooo many things in the city, it might just be well worth a trip!
